· We are blessed that Queen of Peace Catholic Church - La Marque recently hosted a food drive on our behalf to help those in our community struggling with food insecurities. They collected 586 pounds of non-perishable food and made a monetary donation that equals 1,240 meals! We greatly appreciate their support during this hard time for many neighbors. #GCFB #fooddrive #donation #endhunger #GalvestonCounty

· Church, As we start this new year, I am so excited about what God has planned for FBCTC. I believe 2024 will be a banner year for our church. We are beginning the new year with a sermon series called “Pray Like This," which will cover the Lord’s Prayer in depth. After our series on the Lord’s Prayer, we will launch a new series called Kingdom Legacy, where we will unpack God’s vision and mission for our church over the next decade. God has great things in store for FBCTC, and I am excited to unveil what He has shown me over this past year of being your pastor. Over the past year, we have baptized 43 people, 97 people joined our church, we started the Equip Pathway program, and laid the groundwork for much more. God worked in our church mightily in 2023, but I can confidently say that He is just getting started. I am so excited about what God has in store for our church. We will be announcing and unveiling more information about God’s grand plan for FBCTC in February. God Bless, Pastor Pierce Operation Honor Our Local Veterans, Inc.

· ”And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time.“ Luke 4:13 ESV Jesus faced some tremendous temptations in the, wilderness, and came through unscathed. But as Satan left without accomplishing his desire, it didn’t mean he gave up. Just as it says in this passage, “he departed from him until an opportune time.” The devil never quits, he never declares God’s people off limits, he just sets in wait to see if he can catch us with our guards down. He is looking for those who isolate themselves from others who will support and encourage them. He is looking for those who are dabbling in areas of temptation. He is looking for those who begin seeking answers in false gods and false belief systems. In other words, he is looking for some of the people you know. The key message, or perhaps warning, that we should get from this passage is that the devil never gives up He is watching and waiting for the opportune time to mess up our lives. So if he is watching and waiting for us, what should we be doing? I guess we could spend all our time like sentries who are solely focused on watching for the enemy, but I don’t know if that is the real answer. Maybe the answer is two-fold; first and foremost we should be keeping our eyes on Christ, following in his footsteps to a place of safety. And we should also become familiar enough with scripture that we can rely on it for the wisdom we need to defend against the attacks that are sure to come. Christ is willing and able to be our ever present help, but it is up to us to allow him to be our strength and our help. Pastor Tim Franklin |
