Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research · We are still caring for green sea turtles that cold stunned during the January freeze event! This week, we were able to release another one back into the Gulf after being rehabilitated at our hospital. The Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research receives all rescue calls for the upper Texas coast through the 1-866-TURTLE-5 hotline and coordinates rescue efforts thanks to our amazing staff and volunteers. Our team responds to rescues and recoveries, rehabilitates and releases sea turtles 24/7, rain or shine! With the help of our Houston Zoo veterinarians, we are able to create custom care plans to get each patient back into the wild. We couldn’t do this work without your support, so please consider purchasing an item from our Amazon wishlist to keep our programs going! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/4EOLDU4THK0Z... #gcstr #sharethegulf #everybodyrow #sayyestoseaturtles #saveseaturtles Beau Rawlins For Galveston City Council District 5

Whether or not you've seen this van around the city, you've almost certainly seen its results.4/26/2024 City of Texas City · Whether or not you've seen this van around the city, you've almost certainly seen its results. This is our Clean Team van, which launched last year and has already made a huge impact in the community. The crew targets busy, heavily trafficked streets, drainage ditches and everything in-between, steadily working throughout Texas City to clean any litter and debris they come across. The Clean Team collects about 15 bags of litter daily, on average. That means that since the creation of the program, the Clean Team has removed about 5,000 bags worth of trash from streets and neighborhoods in Texas City.
