Galveston Independent School DistrictOur Lady Tors Soccer Team had a great time visiting the Cascades at Galveston! They helped with snack time and also walked around and talked with the residents and staff. Our Lady Tors gave letters and other gifts to the residents, letting them know how important they are.

Port Bolivar Volunteer Fire Department
Port Bolivar Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Hoss Strimple, Crystal Beach VFD Chief Gunner Newberry and, Galveston County ESD #2 EMS Paramedics Jean R, Joey M, Christine D. and Chris R, Operations Supervisor Frank D. were honored by the United States Coast Guard during a ceremony on October 26th, at Ellington Field, for the rescue of 6 individuals from the Intracoastal Waterway.
Our Assistant Chief Hoss Strimple was unable to attend the ceremony at Ellington Field so he received his award at our members meeting last night.
During the evening hours of July 30th, a personal watercraft with 6 individuals was struck by a tug boat, throwing them from their boat. Assistant Chief Strimple used his personal boat to transport the paramedics to the scene, where the individuals were located in the water uninjured. All individuals were rescued from the water with help from Assistant Chief Strimple and the other first responders. They were then transported by boat to the shore where a waiting ambulance crew was able to evaluate their condition.
Congratulations to this team of first responders! Their hard work, cooperation and dedication to safety definitely help keep our peninsula and surrounding waters a safer place.

Join us for our annual Crystaland Christmas Parade on the Bolivar Peninsula. Santa will be at the Crystal Beach Fire Station following the parade where the CBVFD will be serving hot dogs. All are welcome to come and enjoy the festivities.
Route: Crystal Beach Rd. to the Beach turns left to Gregory/Bowers back to CBVFD.
