Jacob Andrew Hoff, son of Daryl and Stacy Hoff of Santa Fe, Texas, received his Eagle Scout Award & 2 Eagle Palms in a Court of Honor ceremony last June, at The Breathe of Life Community Church, in Alvin, Texas.
Hoff has been active in scouting for 11 years. He began his scouting career as a Tiger Cub with Pack 646 and continued through Cub Scouting to achieve the highest award, the Arrow of Light.

As a member of Boy Scout Troop 603, Hoff has held numerous leadership positions including Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader & Webmaster. He has earned 33 merit badges, his Patrol won Best Patrol Award at Camporee for two consecutive years & he received the Lending Hand Award.

For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Hoff coordinated a work crew that installed new cabinets on top & refinish the bottom cabinets & built shelves in a workroom at the Sunshine Center in Galveston, Texas.
The Sunshine Center is a United Way Partner Agency that trains individuals with disabilities to establish & maintain a home, achieve education & employment goals.
Under Hoff's direction, scouts and adult volunteers completed the project that took more than 207 man-hours.

Hoff really enjoyed working on the project. After he finished the project, he went back to touch up the paint on the project.
While he was there, Hoff talked with the Sunshine Center Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troop. He discussed his experience in scouting and brought some things he made at camp/pinewood derby cars and ribbons he earned.
Hoff's Eagle Scout Project has been a tremendous asset to Sunshine Center. It has helped Sunshine Center improve with organization and productivity.
The Sunshine Center now has more storage room for materials and supplies. The new and improved workroom has also been utilized for board meetings, quarterly meetings, family support group meetings, and various activities for programs at Sunshine Center.
Hoff is a senior at Santa Fe High School where he is a member of the Student Council and was selected to represent the school at L.E.A.D.S, a student leadership program. He is the Team Captain of the SFHS Ultimate Frisbee team & is a member of PAL, Peer Assistance & Leadership team.
United Way Galveston County Mainland and the Sunshine Center applauds Jacob Hoff and everyone involved in the Eagle Scout Project! We thank you for your dedication, hard work, and community service!
