GALVESTON (March 2019) – As storm season approaches, The Salvation Army of Galveston County is preparing with free training for volunteers interested in Emergency Disaster Service on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the new Moody Family Corps Community Center located at 4801 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway in Texas City from 8:30 am until 3:00 pm.

This training features two introductory courses that are required to be a credentialed volunteer for disaster response with The Salvation Army, including Safe from Harm which is general training on working with vulnerable populations and Intro to Emergency Disaster Response (EDS). Pre-registration is required.

The Salvation Army would not be able to respond to local, state or national disasters without the faithful service of volunteers. If you were one who felt helpless during Harvey or Ike, this is your opportunity to prepare and be ready for future events.

To register please visit: http://disaster.salvationarmyusa.org/training/?classes&state=TX
If you have any questions you can contact Holly McDonald at 409-763-1691, ext. 75313 or holly.mcdonald@uss.salvationarmy.org.
