SABIKA SHEIKH
SANTA FE EXCHANGE STUDENT
Does not seem like a name at Santa Fe
One never heard of in past years 
Yet for this one we shed tears
One of 10 taken away
So suddenly in Santa Fe
Came to be here in the U.S. of A
An exchange student from Pakistan 
The short time while she was here 
Santa Fe students felt her love
Now this precious one travels back across many lands
So sad to be returned in this way
A useless hateful shooting took her life away 
Why oh why Lord we cry
Has our world come to be this way
Her family back in her homeland
Accepts her back amongst grieving hands
Grasping a coffin with one once alive
Sharing the horrible pain felt back in Santa Fe
This young exchange student was one of three sisters
As her brothers shows his pain
Along with her whole family
For the loss of such a precious soul
This old poet shares these rhymes 
Across many lands to go
For we are all sisters and brothers
Our love for one another should never be smothered 
By such a heinous act as this shooter inflicted on innocent souls
May God cover this family with love
Protect them from above 
Knowing they’re those here that deeply care
About Sabika and her family
Our hearts break into for the lose of your daughter
She will be remembered always 
For your family we deeply pray 
May God soothe your pain away
