It's every kid's dream of fighting the forces of evil with their very own light-saber. Well, now you can make that dream a reality, and join others with like aspirations in the emerging sport of Light-saber Dueling Combat. Galveston Counties' own Saber Force Academy hosts free weekly practices with experienced trainers standing by. Loaner sabers and gear will be provided to newcomers.
Here locally, Saber Force Academy was founded as a co-operative group with the intention of becoming a non-profit, bringing an athletic after-hours alternative to Galveston's youth, and it has since grabbed the fascination of all ages alike. What once was two brilliantly lit light-sabers flashing in the night became four, and with blades flashing in every color of the rainbow, people just had to stop and witness the spectacle of real-life light-saber battles. Word of Saber Force Academy spread; newcomers became hooked to the spirited display and grabbed a light-saber to taste the thrill and excitement rushing through their veins. Everyone wants to become a Jedi, but you can't do it on your own - you need people with similar interests to challenge and develop your skills. Rather than wasting the evening on the couch surfing Netflix, join Saber Force Academy in the ring and grow with your friends and family in this wonderful new sport.
