Texas Independence Trail Ride Association headed for Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo LA MARQUE, TEXAS (February 7, 2019) More than 150 riders and wagons with Texas Independence Trail Ride Association will participate in a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo trail ride, camping at Mac McGaffey Highland Bayou Park Friday, February 15, 2019, and traveling through City of La Marque Saturday, February 16, 2019. Spectators are welcome to park at La Marque City Hall, 1111 Bayou Road, or La Marque Public Library, 1011 Bayou Road, and watch the trail ride. Riders are expected around 9:30 a.m. The tail ride route continues through La Marque, Texas City, Santa Fe and Hitchcock.
According to Jeff Simpson, Lifetime Trail Boss with TITRA, the group is thankful La Marque has been so welcoming, and the riders are looking forward to camping at Highland Bayou Park. “Thank you for the hospitality,” said Simpson. “We are grateful La Marque is supporting the heritage and legacy of this trail ride to the Houston.” Texas Independence is a nonprofit organization that strives to stimulate, promote and encourage the love of horses, riding and good fellowship.
