Dr. Rodney Cavness is a public school leader spanning nearly 30 years of service. He devotes his life to furthering the educational attainment and development of students.  He has 28 years of experience as an administrator in four districts, both large and small school systems. 
Starting as a teacher/athletic coach in 1990, Cavness spent countless hours honing his craft while bridging the silos of leadership, management, and innovation that propelled him to the level of superintendent. He is a master motivator, never stalling in the face of high-pressure situations but pivoting to find common ground solutions.
Surrounded by commercial refineries and chemical plants, Cavness redefined the way students approach career and tech opportunities long before post-secondary readiness entered our lexicon. In an era of changing accountability systems with limited state resources, there is one immutable truth about Cavness: his leadership is the gold standard, taking his schools, staff, and students to the next level.
