LA MARQUE, TEXAS (October 2, 2018) Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission invites all citizens of La Marque, local business, organizations and civic groups to participate in La Marque Fall Sweep from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018, for a citywide cleanup and beautification event. Citizens will be able to drop off bulk trash for free at La Marque City Hall, as well as participate in a free shredding day. Groups are encouraged to identify specific beautification projects and volunteers are invited to participate.
FREE BULK TRASH DROP OFF & SHREDDING FOR LA MARQUE CITIZENS. STEP 1: Grab a recent La Marque utility bill and photo ID - both are required to participate in the Fall Sweep. STEP 2: Deliver trash to City Hall & come prepared to unload.
STEP 3: Understand no hazardous waste will be accepted. Pesticides, household chemicals, sharps, electronic waste, batteries, fluorescent lamps, automotive waste products (including oil), paints, thinners, and dozens of other items that don’t belong with your recyclables, regular curbside waste pickup or at the Fall Sweep event. CALL FOR BEAUTIFICATION PROJECTS IN LA MARQUE, TEXAS Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission (KLMB) has identified several city streets that could use some extra TLC and commissioners invite all local volunteer groups to join the cleanup efforts on November 3, 2018. Currently, City beautification projects are planned by La Marque Cemetery Board, La Marque Garden Club, La Marque Kiwanis and La Marque Parks Board and La Marque Citizens Police Academy The Back Porch Events Center off Walnut Street. “We invite all church groups, local organizations and corporate partners to join us in cleaning the city during the 2018 La Marque Fall Sweep,” said Commission Chairman Joe Compian. “We’d like to have groups pledge for Cedar Drive, Bayou Road, Texas Avenue, Autry Road and sections of FM 1764, each city park and known dumping areas in La Marque. A few hours of volunteerism will go a long way in Keeping La Marque Beautiful.” Volunteers will meet at City Hall and be provided with materials including gloves, trash bags and bug spray.
