We are very pleased to announce that the City of Kemah Police Department hosted our first Guns & Gals Workshop on January 29, 2022. We invited women of the City of Kemah to join us to learn about Firearms 101 with our highly qualified and experienced Firearms Instructors. Eight civilians and three interns participated in our Firearm Orientation Course in Council Chambers at Kemah City Hall and Practical Firearm Training at Marksman Indoor Range in South Houston.
Our Firearms Instructors used their extensive training and expertise to educate and our attendees about the basics of firearms, including:
• Legal Ownership
• Open Carry and Castle Doctrine
• Gun Safety
• Parts and Components of Firearms
• Ammunition and Firearm Accessories
• Gun Handling and Maintenance
• Marksmanship Fundamentals
Our Guns & Gals Workshop gave women of the City of Kemah the rare opportunity to train with certified Firearms Instructors and Peace Officers. Our Firearms Instructors worked with attendees in a group and one-on-one to educate them about their legal rights, raise awareness of gun safety, enhance their knowledge of firearms, improve their gun handling skills, cultivate responsible gun ownership, and help them gain shooting experience in a safe and supportive environment.
Our Firearm Orientation Course and Practical Firearm Training received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our attendees. It was praised as an educational, empowering, and enjoyable experience that was well-organized, informative, and encouraged active participation. Our Firearms Instructors were also commended for their patience, insight, professionalism, and motivation.
We are proud our first Guns & Gals Workshop was highly rated and well-appreciated by all those in attendance. With the support of the City of Kemah, we hope to provide more opportunities for our citizens and community to become safe, competent, and confident gun owners.
