GALVESTON (Jan -2019) – The Women’s Auxiliary of The Salvation Army Galveston County is busy planning the Runway of Hope Style Show and Luncheon honoring Gina Spagnola. President of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce. Gina is a long-time champion of The Salvation Army as well as all of Galveston County. Set for March 29th in the Grand Ballroom of the San Luis Hotel, the show will feature fashions by Treasure Trove Gifts and Garments, located on 61st Street, Galveston, TX. This boutique has something for all your special occasions for the year.
“I am so honored to serve on The Salvation Army’s Advisory Board and to have served two years as a founding member and chair of the Women’s Auxiliary. The Salvation Army has served such a critical role in our region for over 100 years, and I can’t imagine what our community would do without them,” says Gina. Regarding the event, she continues, “This event is hugely important to the core mission of the organization and all of the families and individuals that need help. I’m extremely honored to be recognized, and I hope everyone will purchase a ticket or a table and attend this important and FUN event!” Modeling at the event are well-known local community leaders Brenda Weber, wife of Congressman Randy Weber, Chris Alderman Kinard, wife of John Kinard, Galveston County District Clerk, Ruth Martinez, Shriners Hospitals for Children - Galveston, Drs.Kelli Moulton, Superintendent, Annette Scott, Asst. Superintendent and Vivian Hernandez-Kleinschmidt, Family & Community Engagement Specialist at Galveston ISD. New this year will be a group of student models Ny’Jala Bush, Ashton Sonnier and teacher Kenneth Maxwell of Central Middle School. Students Falon Dunn, Kai Harper and Brian Barnes, teacher from Odyssey Academy. Leonard Woolsey, Publisher of the Galveston County News will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the event. Doors will open at 11:00AM on March 29th. VIP ticket holders can enter at 10:30AM for a special reception and time of shopping in the Closet of Hope. The Women’s Auxiliary is collecting fashions for the Closet of Hope. Donations of gently used or new high-end fashions can be dropped off at The Salvation Army in Galveston at 601 51st Street marked to the attention of the Style Show.
