6/17/2019

Galveston County Youth Preparedness Council (YPC) will bring together young leaders who are interested in supporting disaster preparedness and making a difference in their communities, by completing disaster preparedness projects nationally and locally. The YPC supports FEMA’s commitment to involve America’s youth in preparedness-related activities. It also provides an avenue to engage young people by taking into account their perspectives, feedback, and opinions. During the week of this camp, our youth will learn the basics of search and rescue, fire suppression, advanced first aid, CPR, take part in the Stop the Bleed Class, and meet with local government officials to discuss preparedness. We are currently looking for sponsors for this event. If you are interested please contact John.Herrmann@co.galveston.tx.us Keep checking back more information in the future for this event. This camp is for high school students who will be Juniors or Seniors in the Fall of 2019.
