Want to give an update. Been really busy lately. Lots and lots of meetings for the good of Santa Fe. I want to give a disclaimer, I don’t just go to meetings and talk and that is it. I take the info and go with it when possible. I have always believed that a meeting without any action was a waste of everyone’s time. So that being said, I am proud to represent Santa Fe. I recently was parade marshal for Krewe Babalu. I also was honored to help with opening day ceremonies for Santa Fe Little League and also throw out the first pitch. Yesterday I was in Austin for Galveston County Day at the Capitol. Went to a lot of appointments to talk about City and County issues. Mostly around drainage and roads. I am currently working on putting in a couple of bus stops in Santa Fe. We are working with the Transit Connect group. There will be a survey going around very soon to get the community input. Also last week the City and the School talked about the stop arm program at Council meeting. There should be a vote next week on it to possibly implement it on certain bus routes where the majority of the problems are. The Library is in the works on expanding. Many years ago Mae S. Bruce put together a trust for the Library and also donated our parks. The trust has barely enough to complete the project, but if you would like to help please contact the Library or get with the friends of the library in ways you can help. I think it would be beneficial for our city and our kids for that to continue. The Bruce family has done so much for our community and I think everyone would agree that the trust needs to be there for the future generations. These are just a few of the highlights so that you won’t have to read a book to keep up with me lol.
On a side note, again I am truly honored to represent the City and the community. I am thankful that the voters put their faith in me last May and elected me to this position. I truly care about our community and want nothing but the best for us and our children and the future. I might not always make everyone happy with every decision, but I will promise to think logically and also look at the future and what is best for everyone. If you happen to see my wife Kyra J Tabor around, please thank her. Without her, I wouldn’t be half the Mayor I am today. Everyone have a great day and please be safe this weekend and next week with Spring Break. See y’all around town.
