Here is a quick update. Many many meetings all week. Had an education foundation meeting earlier this week. Was fun to see a grant funded project up close “breakout boxes.” So it’s a fun tool to be used in any grade and virtually any subject. You have to solve a problem to get a clue to be able to open a lock. There are boxes inside boxes with an array of locks and can be something as simple as a 3 code combination to 6 locks on one box each with multiple codes. Seeing the adults engaged for a simple 2 boxes each with one lock was a lot of fun. I can only imagine the kids working with this as well.
Later that evening we had the Master Utility Plan meeting with the City, EDC, and WCID along with the engineers. Without being to long winded, this is much needed. It will serve as a tool and resource for the future of Santa Fe. It is designed to equip us with what is needed for what size and where critical water and sewer will be needed, size of supply lines, and strategic locations for water treatment plants, towers, lift stations etc. In the long run it will keep us from wasting resources and money by not making mistakes. Wednesday I was invited to Our Lady Of Lourdes school to read to a class. Chief Meadows was there along with Santa Fe EMS, Galveston Firefighter and Sheriff Department. Was great to help out the community. Friday I went on the air with Santa Fe Education Foundation on KHEA radio. Talked about the upcoming gala on February 7th. Please visit the Education Foundation page or look at the attached invitation for more info. Later that evening Kyra J Tabor and myself attended the Santa Fe Chamber Of Commerce annual gala. Great evening and many deserving awards were given out. Congrats to all the nominees and especially the winners. Yesterday I had a fun filled morning of coaching volleyball for the YMCA. I was trying to make Chef Mary’s event in Dickinson, but they added a third game and I was stuck there for almost 6 hours. Great job Mary on your event in Dickinson. You always do so much for our community. Last night I was invited to attend the Lighthouse Charity annual Gala. I presented a proclamation to them in honor of all the hard work they have done for Santa Fe including what they did on May 18th. Thank you LightHouse Charity Cooking Team for always stepping up during any and all emergencies. So everyone enjoy your Sunday. I will see y’all around town.
