Quick update:
Meetings non stop. Working with local charities and non profits to make sure the City is working with all of these great organizations. I was honored to throw out the first pitch to start the spring softball season. If you didn’t know, City of Santa Fe along with WCID#8 and the Girls Softball League have teamed up and will have a new lift station and sewer at the complex. Should break ground really soon. If you didn’t know, Santa Fe has the largest softball league in the county. Very proud of that amazing organization and I am so glad to help them in many ways. I attended the Dickinson Watershed meeting last week. I currently serve as Vice-chair for that committee. It’s a great collaboration of all the entities that are in the watershed and we work well together. The goal is not to flood our neighbors or our own citizens while working on regional solutions that benefit everyone. Myself along with Street Superintend ant Billy Creppon represent Santa Fe at all the monthly meetings along with any regional meetings. Thank you Billy for always stepping up and providing support for this initiative. Had a meeting with another development looking to come to Santa Fe. It’s about 168 new homes along with prime commercial acreage as well. It’s really nice to see these hybrid style developments. We get the roof tops along with much needed commercial retail. We currently have 3 subdivisions under construction as well as 4-5 new ones submitting plans and meeting with our staff. Most are small developments, but much needed affordable housing for our city. I know some don’t want our city to grow. The bottom line is growth is coming wether you want it to or not. So my solution is to take a lead on the growth and shape the city for the future with a well thought out plan. Keep businesses on the commercial frontage and make sure residential houses are laid out properly. I am honored to be a finalist for the Galveston Daily News Citizen of the year. I chose Santa Fe Education Foundation as my charity. If I win, the charity will receive proceeds from the fundraiser. I want to just say Thank you. We started this journey two years ago and I am thankful that you all put your faith in me to lead. You all took a risk and voted me into office. My goal has always been to be transparent as well as work hard and put in the hours that are needed as Mayor. I hope that I am making you all proud. Thank you to my wife Kyra J Tabor and my kids and family and friends for their continued support. This has been an amazing journey and I look forward to many more years. I’m always a phone call away so please reach out to me if you need anything. Remember y’all are my boss 😃. Love you all and god bless. See y’all around.
