I was glad when they said unto me,
let us go into the house of the Lord!
Psalm 122:1
We’ve always known it. Most of us have been taught the scripture. But this year, the pandemic year, and especially the period where we didn’t meet in person and only streamed worship, we learned that we really missed the joy of coming to “the house of the Lord.”
The state of Texas, and entire nation, have been on a decline in Covid cases recently, and that’s GREAT news! We had a little surge in cases among our staff and membership recently, but thankfully that is winding down. Many have already been vaccinated and a lot have had the virus, so our antibodies are in the fight Covid mode! Having said all of that, isn’t it time to get back to church and be glad?
Our facility is made for social distancing! Our chairs are spread out, our halls are wide and we’re even working to have the fellowship hall as an overflow venue by Easter. And when you come… come expecting! Yes, expect to be greeted,
expect an incredible facility, expect ample parking, expect children, youth and adult rooms ready for instruction. Most of all, expect to meet God! We meet God corporately, or together, through worship. That happens as we honor Him with the songs we sing to, and about Him, with our prayers of confession and with learning from His Word. When we truly seek God and commune with Him, we leave the corporate worship time changed and challenged to live out our faith
in a more visible way the rest of the week. And, as we commune with God privately throughout the week and shine with His light and love, our corpopate worship is more meaningful and an overflow of our week spent with Him!
So, this Sunday when you are here… get into the worship center a little early. Greet your friends and neighbors and read through the worship guide. But, when we begin to WORSHIP GOD, jump in! Sing, respond to God and His greatness through the worship postures… standing, raising hands, clapping, kneeling, dancing (that’s Baptist for swaying…), pray to Him, listen for His voice speaking to you, learn and be changed by God’s presence! See you Sunday?
I can’t wait!
