From Our Worship Pastor, John Talley:

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Can it be more obvious that God has a plan and a future for us? He made our past moves possible – Ninth Ave, to Mainland, to this fabulous location! He led us to design and build-out this former store to what will be an incredible church building with plenty of room for growth. That “room for growth” translates into room for social distancing now. We have been working on this design for years and we had no clue of the term social distancing, or the need for it. But God knew!

We are open and meeting for worship, as well as streaming on Livestream/Vimeo and Facebook Live. Why attend now? We are practicing safety! We are wearing masks before and after worship, using hand sanitizers often, we have a professional disinfect crew that is cleaning between services, our rows of chairs are six+ feet apart, our main hallways are 24 feet wide and even the secondary hallways are 12 feet wide.

We are having guests! Even amid this pandemic, guests are visiting FBCTC! They are finding our facility safe, our people friendly, our services worshipful and they are returning!

Mark 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

One of the big issues that seems to question our freedom and/or liberty is wearing masks. I am seriously not a fan of wearing them at all, but I am trying to wear one more consistently. The main reason I wear one is to serve others. I have already been tested once and am so happy to be Covid free! However, I’m not wearing a sign that says “Covid Free.”

So, my mask wearing serves and brings a level of comfort to others. Galatians 5:13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

It is super exciting being at FBCTC and seeing the building come together, for the needs we knew we had and especially needs we didn’t know we had! I look forward to its completion and our ability to use it all to advance the cause of Christ! Thank you so much for your part in its completion!
