What a summer?! There is a lot to celebrate from our time of
ministry this summer! We look forward to celebrating many of those
commitments through Baptism in the months to come. Although our
summertime ministry is coming to an end, we have a lot to look
forward to for ministry in the fall at FBCTC!
As the summer comes to a close, our Youth Ministry will celebrate
and close out the summer on Wednesday, August 4th, with their
SMASH awards. SMASH awards night is a great opportunity to
relive great memories from the summer and celebrate all that God
has done. Our incoming sixth graders will celebrate their crossover
into the Youth Ministry on Wednesday, August 18th.
You won’t want to miss the evening of the Acoustic Coffee House
on Friday, August 6. This will be Carter’s last night with us before
he heads back to Sam Houston for his fall semester. Carter & Mia
have served faithfully and tirelessly this summer as our interns.
Thankfully, Mia will not be going far for college and plans to continue
serving at FBCTC this fall. We will also be saying goodbye to our
college students who have been serving in the Worship Ministry this
summer. So come to bless and be blessed that night!
As our children start a new school year, they will promote to their
new classes at church, if applicable, on Promotion Sunday, August
15th. New first graders will promote to Kids Church for elementary
as well as a new class for Sunday School. We also plan to celebrate
our first graders on Sunday, August 29th with a Bible presentation in
Our Wednesday evening programming, KidJam, will kick off on
Wednesday, August 25th, for four year olds through sixth grade.
We are really excited about this new opportunity for kids on
Wednesdays. It will be a rotation format and will start at 6pm ‘til 8pm.
Jenny will lead a rotation of music with the goal of showcasing what
they learn during Adult Worship on Family Sundays. We will also
work on scripture memory and Bible skills, including a time of crafts
and games. Ben and Diana Breedlove will be leading a rotation
of Puppet Ministry for fourth through sixth graders. We will also be
serving a light meal as one of our rotations.
Like I said, we have a lot to look forward to this fall at FBCTC! This
is just the beginning! Our Children’s Ministry team is AMAZING! In
Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and
do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as
these.” If you’ve ever thought about serving regularly or as a sub in
Children’s Ministry, I would love to chat with you about how God can
use YOU this fall.
