From Our Children’s Minister, Meschel Hara:
This Sunday is Family Sunday! Every last Sunday of
the month on Family Sunday, our 1st – 6th graders will go
to “big” church with their family and then dismiss for Kids
Church after the offertory prayer. I feel it’s important for
kids to be able to participate in adult worship once a month
so that families can worship together. This also allows
our kids to be present during our Lord’s Supper Sundays,
which also falls on the last Sunday of the month, quarterly.
The rest of the month Kids Church starts at 10:45am, and
you can drop off as early as 10:30am. Our Kids Church
time consists of small group arrival time games, worship,
review of monthly scripture, large group Bible story time,
small group Bible story application activities, and prayer
time. Having the kids in Kids Church for the full hour gives
us much more opportunity to provide a better combination
of worship and fun. Our elementary kids are finishing up our Drop the Act series for the month of October. We’ve been focusing on the character trait of God, Integrity. Living with integrity means we choose to be truthful in whatever we say and do. There’s no need to hide or pretend. We can “drop the
act” and choose to be who God made us to be.
Our preschool-aged kids are finishing up the series,
Singing in the Rain. They learned this month that “God’s
got it!” Through the Bible stories of Shadrach, Meshach &
Abednego, Baby Moses, Hagar, and Noah preschoolers
were reminded that God is with them wherever they go.
That’s good to remember no matter our age, especially in
this day and time with Covid and the increase of people
with anxiety. God is with us wherever we go!
