From Our Children’s Minister, Meschel Hara:
We are finally at the stage of our building project of repurposing the old Dillard’s Department Store into the ministry space of First Baptist Church Texas City that we can actually start visualizing and planning for ministry in our new space. Our pastor has set a goal of September 13th for us to be back to full ministry, and we are very excited to pursue that goal. As I start to visualize that, I see lots of opportunities for the body of Christ to use their God-given talents to carry out the Great Commission through ministry at FBCTC. I’m thankful that God designed each of us uniquely with different strengths and weaknesses. And by design, when all of God’s family comes together to serve, He is able to love our community through us. How can God use you? I’d like to encourage you to start praying about how God wants to use you in ministry at FBCTC. Do you have a passion for coffee or serving others? Our new space will have a very nice coffee bar, and we will need volunteers to help prepare coffee each week. Do you have the gift of gab? Consider joining our greeter team to help people feel welcome and loved at church. Also, our Legacy team is another great opportunity to use your gifts visiting our elderly members who are no longer able to travel to church. Do you have a passion for kids and families to experience the love of Christ? Our Children’s Ministry Team will be expanding our structure and will have many new opportunities to serve children and their families from security to helping gather supplies for lessons. Do you remember the struggle of being a teenager? Join our Student Ministry Team and be a positive influence in a teen’s life. Are you gifted with being musical or love technology? Join our Worship Ministry Team by being part of the choir, band or tech team. Who loves yard work? Don’t you want to help beautify the landscaping of God’s House? I could go on and on with opportunities for you to use your gifts to serve God here at FBCTC. If you feel God leading you to serve, let me know; and I will help you plug in to ministry.
