First Baptist Church of Texas City
From Our Worship Associate, Jenny Skarke: There are many layers and emotions involved with Mother’s Day, and I find it important to acknowledge them. For example, consider the wide continuum of mothering; such as first-time mothers, those who cannot bear children, those who have lost their mother, those who have never met their biological mother, those who are brand new empty-nesters, and the list goes on. No matter the circumstances of where you stand on this day, remember that you are loved deeply by Christ and by all of those walking with you through life. We rejoice with you, mourn with you, celebrate you, and support you. Here are some special quotes from a few of our church members about their mother or mother figure. “My mom is adventurous, selfless, encouraging, beautiful, talented, and God-fearing. She is my inspiration and I thank God for the blessing she is to my family and I each day!” -Shelby Jackson “My mom is the strongest person I know. She’s such a beautiful person inside and out. I’m thankful for her endless love and support she’s always given me. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without her!” -Celeste Sanchez “I am so thankful for my mom because she has been in my corner through every single victory and defeat. She always lifts me up and shows me a different perspective or a silver lining.” -Tarryn Goldner “I’m thankful for my mom because she has shown me how to be independent & strong. I know that I will always have a best friend in my mom & I am forever grateful for that. I am also thankful for Meschel, because she has been a listening ear for anything I have going on in my life. I can always count on her to be up for an adventure & when I need a laugh.” -Mia Tortorici
