Members of the Davison family traveled back to Texas City to present the restored Davison family Bible to the Texas City Heritage Association and Texas City Museum at the historic Davison House. The family Bible, dated 1857, contains information, photos, and even a few old dried flowers.
The Davison family is noted in Texas City history for starting the Port of Texas City, among other things. Tours of the Davison house are available through the museum office.
The Davison family Bible will be housed at the museum as a proper display case is ordered for it and it's contents.
Congratulations to the Texas City Museum and Texas City Heritage Association on acquiring this historic item.
Thank you to the Davison family for a they have done for Texas City and preserving our history.
