The 2019 Empty Bowl Event reverently honors five individuals who went above and beyond for The Jesse Tree. Sadly, in the past eight months, Dorethea Lewis Wynn, Betsy Horner, Ray Brown, Tino Gonzalez and Patrick Golden have passed away leaving us bereft and in awe of the thousands of people’s lives touched by these generous individuals. Help us celebrate and memorialize their kindness, generosity and goodness – all truly WONDERFUL people who are sorely missed. Gone but they will never be for 
The Empty Bowl Event raises funds for the Senior Nutrition and Wellness Program of The Jesse Tree; The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Galveston County “Bowlers” work all year to produce 400 exquisite, handmade, beautifully decorated ceramic bowls. Upon entering you select the bowl of your choice, then sample up to twenty, delicious soups made by some of the finest restaurants in Galveston. Bread, crackers, desserts and a wine bar round out your meal, as you mix, mingle and peruse the objet d’art at the Silent Auction. This is one of Galveston’s most beloved fundraisers and 100% of your contributions go to the monthly food box deliveries to some of the poorest seniors and disabled residents of Galveston’s public housing. Hector Bisio, Pianist will enchant you with his amazing repertoire of fabulous music!
