Lord oh Lord in rhymes what do I say
To this dad of the Santa Fe Shooter today 
Lead me Jesus with these rhymes
With words of understanding not to judge
Your son somehow deceitfully was led astray
Whether bullied or not Satan had his way
With your guns not locked away
Your responsibility to be that day
Yet many of us leave guns to easy access 
Thinking we know our children would do no harm 
We could say this or that matter of fact 
Yet we must take part in our children's life
Take time to talk with them
Share their happiness and fears
If bullied and it is by parents known
Do something in advance peacefully
If there seems to be mental anguish within your child
Don't shove it off to being just a teenager
Stay in touch with your child daily 
Then you will see any drastic change
This poet can only imagine what you are going through
The feeling of guilt or denial 
Yes I do feel your hurt inside
For your son, that did grave harm to fellow students
There is no excuse for this tragic incident
In rhymes, I pray you find a way
To shed a helpful light for the world to see 
What can we do to help keep school shootings away
Look back not to lack 
Seeing what you may have missed
That made your son react this tragic way
Sometimes no matter what we do or say
Children react in certain ways anyway
Yet our example as a parent means a lot
For you this day in rhymes I pray 
Reach down deep to see
What constructive way you can help these days
For I know you hurt deeply inside 
Come close to God to abide
He is there for you so true
