Welcome to the 1st annual Cupcake War in Clear Lake. Join us in sampling decadent sweet treats, enter your wee one in our Diaper Derby and vote for your favorite Cupcake Team! You don't want to miss out on all the fun & surprises planned for the whole family. Are you a Professional Baker, Home Chef or a Kiddo that loves to bake? Then you need register yourself or your team and battle it out to win top prize and help kiddos win in life! General Admission: All ages 3 and up $5 each, Children under 3 Free (individual general admission tickets only, potential contestant competitors should click here or see below) When: Saturday, June 22, 2019 Time: 2-4pm Where: League City Civic Center 400 W Walker St. League City, TX 77573 If you’re a COMPETITOR… For the competition, there are three divisions: • Youth (ages 17 & under) • Home Baker • Professional And three ways to win! • Best Taste • Best Presentation • Most Fundraised aka "Cherry on Top!" Winners for Best Presentation will be determined by public voting, and winners for Best Taste will be determined by our panel of VIP judges. These votes are solely responsible for the outcome of the “war.” The winners of the competition categories will automatically be entered in our final blue ribbon round for Best Overall Cupcake that will be determined by our VIP judges. What's Required? • Prior to the competition, participants will raise funds for the non-profit Anchor Point using our peer-to-peer fundraising App, MobileCause (don't worry we've made it super simple.) Whoever raises the most funds will win our Cherry on Top award! Click here to view instructions for fundraising using our MobileCause App. • Participants must supply a minimum of 100 miniature cupcakes of the same flavor for tasting by guests and a dozen miniature cupcakes for the judges (totaling 112 miniature cupcakes). • Additionally, participants must provide a minimum of six dozen full-size cupcakes to be sold at the event with the proceeds going to the non-profit Anchor Point. • All cupcakes must be baked and decorated in advance of the competition, and a list of all ingredients must be posted at your table. The event theme is ‘Anchored in Hope,’ so anchor-related décor is encouraged. • Participants must also provide any additional paper plates, table decorations, and promotional materials (if desired). • Participants are required to have their cupcake display set up at the venue no later than 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 22nd. Each participant (1/team) will be provided one 6’ round table. Doors will be open to the public at 2:00 pm. If you’re a GUEST… All general admission tickets are $5, and kids 3 and under can come for free! Cupcakes will be all around for your sampling. You’ll want to make a note of your favorite flavors so you can shop for cupcakes to bring home and enjoy! All general admission guests will vote on their very own favorite ‘Best in Show’ cupcake display. Don't bake but still want some competition? Enter your wee one in our Diaper Derby! Diaper Derby Rules & Requirements: • The Diaper Derby is a fun-filled event for crawling children under the age of 16 months. • Registration is on the day of the event • Depending on the number of contestants, there may be more than one heat. • Crawlers participating in the Diaper Derby will crawl from one cheering “coach” to the other. • Each crawler must be accompanied by two adults on stage. One will stay behind the starting line and one behind the finish line. • Babies will be lined up at the starting line and at the signal, may be encouraged to crawl to the finish line. Toys, bottles, pacifiers, etc. may be used to entice the baby to crawl. Adults MUST stay behind the lines and will not be allowed in the middle of the crawling area until the race is finished. • If a contestant stands up and walks at any time during the race, he or she will be disqualified.
