An Act of Kindness Spurs New “Good Neighbor Award” from Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission

 

Kathy Herrin lives in Borondo Pines neighborhood of La Marque. She usually decorates her yard for all holidays, but especially for Christmas. Life has been hectic for Kathy lately and due to some health issues, she wasn’t able to decorate. Her neighbors noticed and jumped into action. One evening in early December, Kathy came home found her house decked out with lights and festive yard decorations. The time, labor and cost were all donated by her next-door neighbors!


Kathy happens to serve on Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission. She shared this experience and thought her neighbors ought to be recognized for their act of kindness. The other commissioners agreed. A new “Good Neighbor Award” is being developed by KLMBC to recognize citizens of La Marque who do extraordinary things for their neighbors.
