4th. Annual Texas City Kite Festival....

 This is the 4th year that Houston Kite Boarding has hosted this awesome event. The kite festival has grown over the last 3 years to such a great event that it will be held over 2 days. Mark your calendars and make sure you attend June 9th. and  10th.  Thousands will attend this year's event from all over the state. There will be tons vendors of all types as well as some awesome food trucks.  
Events will include single line kite flying for adults and children with professional kite fliers bringing in kites over 50’ wide.  We will once again have tanker surfing throughout the event at different locations as well as drone flying and a hydrofoil kitesurfing event.  They will post individual event information on their facebook page at https://www.facebook.comTexascitykitefest for the most up to date information check there frequently.  Drones are welcome and encouraged but pilots will need to register at the event and stay in designated areas while flying.  More information to come.

Judges will be roaming the event all day, but you can specifically ask one to watch qualifying flights by checking in at the HQ Kites tent

Rules 
Everyone and anyone is welcome to fly their kites and is automatically entered for the kite awards, there is NO entry fee.  Both store-bought and homemade kites will be considered for each category and awards will be given out throughout the event over the course of the day. WORLD CLASS MULTI-ROTOR DRONE RACING

Multi-rotor drone racing is a new and exciting sport taking place all over the world and we are lucky enough to have a very active racing group locally who will host a race or exhibition depending on the weather.  The best place to watch the racing and flying activities will be to the south dike rd. on the grassy levee

HYDROFOIL RIDE WITH KITEBOARDING KITES IN THE BAY

Hydrofoiling Race will be held at the old windsurfing launch off of skyline dr. (the Levee). This is about 1 mile north on Skyline drive. Spectators will be able to view the riders from anywhere on the levee within the first mile from the dike. This area is where all of the recreational kites will be set up. The hydrofoil race will need to be held out in the water a good distance to get a good water depth for competitors. All kiteboarders with a hydrofoil are welcome to race.
