First Baptist Church of Texas City
· From Our Worship Ministry Associate, Jenny Skarke: It has been awesome seeing the same interns we had last summer come back this year as even stronger leaders with a fire to teach the Gospel to our kids and students. Mia and Tarryn have helped organize all of our camps, assisted the staff in various tasks, and even brought new and fresh ideas to the table. Tarryn planned a “Campfire Worship Night” with the FBCTC students a few weeks ago. He taught the JAM Band new songs, put together a small retreat for new and current band members, led the rehearsals, and stepped up as a leader to make sure everything went smoothly! The goals of the night were to introduce new songs, give new singers a chance to lead, involve other students by having them share testimonies and read scripture, and allow the group to have an uplifting night to worship through music and God’s Word. The whole night was a success, and we decided that we want to do it again but OUTSIDE the walls of FBCTC! Thursday, August 10th at 7pm, a mix of adults and students from our worship ministry will lead a night of worship at Ugly Mugz Coffee Shop! Ugly Mugz is a family-friendly shop that serves different types of waffles, snacks, coffees, lemonades, and teas. So save room for dessert after dinner and come worship with us!
