First Baptist Church of Texas City · From Our Children’s Minister, Meschel Hara: There are a lot of things to be excited about at FBCTC two months into 2023! On Wednesday, February 22 we will have a guest speaker, Jeremy Malick, as well as a dessert competition at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. The staff has been meeting with Jeremy for the past several weeks, and he will be training us as a church body how to be prepared to receive the lost people that God sends to FBCTC. If you want to be on the “A” team, you don’t want to miss it! Plus who wants to miss out on dessert for dinner?! Our Student Ministry will join us for this training, and our kids will continue with their regular Wednesday programming, KidJam. Other exciting news is that we are switching over to a new giving and people management platform, Subsplash. We started using Simple Church in 2016, and we feel that this transition to Subsplash is going to take us to the next level in our ministry. Subsplash has so much to offer to FBCTC, but you will see the transition happen one toe at a time. We are starting first with our giving. We are asking everyone who already has their giving set up to recur to end their current recurring gift and set it up with Subsplash. You should have received an email with detailed instructions on how to do that. If you need assistance, call or stop by the church office; and we will be happy to assist you. When you give on our website, you may notice the new giving platform. You most likely will be prompted to set up your profile with Subsplash with your next gift. You can still choose whether to give with a credit card or your bank account. Processing fees are less if you use your bank account. You can also choose whether to cover the fees yourself or the church will cover those fees with our budget. And as always, there are no fees when giving with check or cash. You’re probably wondering, “Can I give on an app?” The answer is yes but not yet. For now, please use our website to give if you want to give online. The app is coming; and it’s going to be fabulous! It’s in the process of being designed and customized for FBCTC. You will be able to read from the Bible and take notes during the sermon on the app as well as receive message notifications from the church. That’s just a couple of great things about the app, and there is so much more! Join me in praying for our transition from Simple Church to Subsplash and for God’s continued guidance as we seek to live out His great commission. Longhorn Lawn Service

“Grandma, how do you cope with pain?” “With your hands, honey. If you do it with your mind instead of relieving the pain, it toughens even harder.” “With your hands grandma?” “Yes, our hands are the antennae of our soul. If you move them; knitting, cooking, painting, playing or sinking them into the ground, you send care signs to the deepest part of you and your soul lights up because you’re paying attention to it. Then signs of pain will no longer be necessary.” “Hands are really that important?” “Yes my daughter. Think of babies: they start to know the world through the touch of their hands. If you look at the hands of old people, they tell you more about their life then any body part. Everything that is done by hand is said to be done with the heart. Because it’s really like this: hands and heart are connected. Masseurs know well: when they touch someone with their hands, they create a deep connection. It is precisely from this connection that healing comes. Think of lovers: when they touch their hands, they make love in a more sublime way.” “My hands grandma.... how long I haven’t used them like this!” “Move them, my love. Begin to create with them and everything within you will begin to move. The pain will not pass away. And instead what you do with them will become the most beautiful masterpiece and it won’t hurt anymore. Because you have been able to transform its essence.. ~Elena Bernabe ~ Follow Us The Bay Area Entertainer Artist Credit : Claudia Tremblay Call The Overall Plumber for Any of Your Plumbing Needs!
