CASA of Galveston County
· CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Galveston County is honored to be the recipient of a $5000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation. The purpose of the grant is to create personal portfolios that include personal documents (social security cards, birth certificate), educational records and other pertinent documents for youth as they exit care. This grant will continue to build upon CASA’s grant from the Texas bar Foundation which allows CASA to educate youth on their rights and help ready them for independent living. CASA volunteers provide effective guardian ad litem services and are a consistent presence in a child’s life during their time in foster care, positively impacting the children and families served. CASA of Galveston County is grateful to be a partner alongside the Texas Bar Foundation to promote justice for children and families through our best interest advocacy. Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation's largest charitably funded bar foundation.
