Fellow Georgian Luke Bryan suggested Campbell try his hand at writing his own songs. Keith Stegall caught one of Campbell’s performances at The Stage in 2008 and the young singer was soon signed to Bigger Picture, which released a debut single, “Family Man,” the song peaked at number 14 on the Country Singles chart, and two more singles were taken from the album, “Fish” and “When I Get There,” made the Country Top 40. In 2013, Bigger Picture released his second album, Never Regret. Two singles from the album charted “Outta My Head” and “Keep Them Kisses Comin”. Born to a music educator father and a school teacher mother, Paul spent much of his formative years in school band halls, surrounded by musicians and instruments. Not surprisingly, by the time he graduated from high school Paul knew that a life in music was what he wanted to pursue. After making Nashville his home at age 20, it wasn’t long before Paul became a busy freelance recording engineer / producer in the Nashville Studio Community. Through those years he found himself recording with many country artists including Dolly Parton and Ricky Skaggs, as well as pop and gospel artists such as Michael McDonald, BeBe Winans and Katy Perry. Through his experience working with some of Nashville’s finest artists and songwriters, Paul began to find a love for both the songwriting community as well as the craft of the song. In 2009 Paul’s career took an evolutionary turn, as he entered an exclusive publishing agreement with Sony ATV. In 2011 he was nominated as one of Music Row Magazine’s breakthrough songwriters of the year for his #1 song, “Don’t You Wanna Stay” performed by Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson. Heritage Park in Texas City spans four acres and is home to several historic houses that are not only landmarks, but also pieces of the City's story and history. You'll find the Davison Home, which was built in 1895, was home to the first child born in Texas City and was also the first home in town that had telephone service. There's also the Engineer's Cottage, which was built even earlier. Interestingly, the plans for the house came from a Sears-Roebuck catalog. You'll also see the Lee Dick Home, the "new kid" on the block, built in 1907. The family included descendants of Jim Campbell of Campbell's Bayou, who was a privateer with Jean Lafitte. And last but not least, you'll find the Moore Home, built by William Moore. Mr. Moore also helped build some other famous landmarks in the area, including the Galveston Causeway and the Texas City Dike. You can tour the historic homes at Heritage Square Park by booking a group tour. There is a 10-person minimum.
