Santa, snow, and a ranch rodeo will all be part of the festive fun. Galveston County Fair and Rodeo will be hosting the family fun event on December 1 & 2, 2023. Spread holiday cheer as WinterFest will have kid activities, food and shopping vendors, holiday baking contests, and a visit from Santa Claus himself. Parking and gate admission are free. “WinterFest is a great event for families to enjoy and get into the Holiday spirit. The two-day event gets started on Friday night with a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, Gingerbread House judging, and caroling. The ever so talented Clear Falls Troubadours will be part of the entertainment. A Ranch Rodeo will be taking place in the rodeo arena starting at 6:00 PM. Christmas Pajama Fun Run will kick off Saturday’s festivities. In addition, a Cookies for Santa Contest, a Pie Baking Contest, and new this year is a Crock Pot Chili Cook-off; all will be seeking entries. The fan favorite, Mutton Bustin, will take place on Saturday. In addition, a visit with Santa Claus is being planned. Winter Snow Land, Santa’s Village, Hayrides, and plenty of kid activities are scheduled. Gates open on Friday at 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Saturday at 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Saturday’s Christmas Pajama Fun Run begins at 8:15 am. This year, in just one day, more families reached out for help than ever before in the history of the entire program. Their officers want to be able to help them all.
