The days of pitching tents in the bottoms for squirrel camp are long gone.

The days of pitching tents in the bottoms for squirrel camp are long gone.
Young boys don’t wade the creeks with H&H’s or Beetle spins anymore.
Most all the men I see on the river only have other men with them and none are getting younger.
Coffee is now drank cold.
Campfires are gone. “Sap lighter”, “rich pine” & “pine knots” are viewed as a foreign language when mentioned.
BB gun wars aren’t fought.
Bicycles aren’t ridden.
Birds aren’t hunted, turtles aren’t caught and the only way to get a biscuit is out of a can!
Long gone are the days of picking peas with papaw!
Shucking corn with Granny.
No more picking strawberries by the quart.
Saved many a Coca Cola bottle for the nickel back but no more…
Everyone’s modernized and moved up town.
Convenience has choked our next generation out!
When the last time you seen a pie in the window?
Clothes hanging on a line?
Folks just sitting under a shade tree?
We’ve all gotten in such a big hurry that we are missing life!
Want proof?
What are you chasing today?
I’d almost bet you have to rush or travel to get it done.
The days of squirrel camp are long gone…….
