Count Your Blessings!
“Count your blessings, name them one by one!”
Although 2020 has been a very hard year for most
everyone, we can still find blessings to be thankful for
this Thanksgiving! Personally, I’m thankful for the extra
time I got to spend with my husband and sons during the
“lockdown.” If life would have been going on as “normal,”
my oldest son would have been gone all summer for his
maritime sea days and my graduating high school senior
would have been super busy as well. But instead, precious
time was carved out for us to spend together.
What a blessing it has been to finish the remodel of our
church! We may not be completely finished but it is such
a blessing to be free of dust and to have light switches and
doors. We’ve been blessed with a lot more than that but
I’m most thankful for those. We’ve been blessed with a
beautiful building to worship God in each and every week.
This past week we reached the $500,000 milestone in our
giving to Finishing the Task. How exciting! God has been
faithful to us and God’s people have been faithful as well.
As we are still in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic,
Thanksgiving will look different for many this year. We may
need to try harder to find more creative ways to show our
gratitude to others. Let us be like the one thankful leper
and make the time to show our gratitude to God and those
we encounter.
