WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH- March 1st-March 31st National Women’s History Month was established in 1987 as a way to celebrate women and their efforts to make the country, and world, a better place for women of all ages and races. While America is full of influential women today, there were many trailblazers who came before them, paving the way. During the month of March, not only do we remember them, but continue to carry their torch onward because there is still work to be done. The City of Hitchcock Police Department proudly celebrates Women's History Month as part of our ongoing commitment to diversity and promise to protect and serve our city with a police department that reflects and showcases the diversity of the city we serve. Thank you ladies for all you do

The Hitchcock Naval Air Station
Hitchcock, Texas by Johnny Stucco Hitchcock Naval Air Station tower Hitchcock Texas Photo Courtesy William Holmes, 2000 History in a Blimp Hanger The Hitchcock Naval Air Station was a blimp base used for spotting German submarine activity during WWII. The 3,000 acre base was within the city limits of Hitchcock and construction began in 1942. The blimp hanger which held six aircraft was built for the astounding cost of $10 million. Dimensions of the hanger was 1,000 feet long by 300 feet wide and 200 feet high. Floor space was 300,000 square feet. The base which had a complement of only 143 officers and crew - was commissioned in May of 1943. Beside the hanger were auxiliary buildings including barracks, warehouses, a mess hall, gymnasium, auditorium and an Olympic-size swimming pool which was used to teach swimming and water-rescue. The base was hit by a June hurricane that year but received minimal damage. The German U-boat wolfpacks which mainly operated around the Florida straits reduced their presence in 1943. The construction of the Intra-Coastal Waterway and increased escorts made the kill-ratio not worth the effort. Many of the other LTA (Lighter-than-Air) stations were closed but Hitchcock became a depot for storing surplus or inactive aeronautical material. The base was sold as war surplus in 1949 for the bargain basement price of $143,777. It was used for storing rice at one point and it was said that the entire rice crop of Texas could have been stored in the hanger. The building was then bought by John W. Mecom who leased the building during the Korean War, to remanufacture half-track vehicle and WWII tanks for use in the Korean War. Hurricane Carla damaged the building in 1961 to the point where it couldn't be repaired and it was demolished the following year. CAMP WALLACE The Naval base at Hitchcock started out as an antiaircraft training center in February 1941. The camp was named to honor Col. Elmer J. Wallace of the Fifty-ninth Coast Artillery, who had been killed in WWI. For two years it served as an antiaircraft replacement training center was then transferred to the United States Navy as a naval training and distribution center. After the war it became a discharge facility for Navy personnel. Letter from W.T. Block, Nederland, Texas: I was in anti-aircraft artillery at Camp Wallace from '42 to '43. I taught radio operating and maintenance in the schools there. I often had to take radio operators out on 2 week bivouac and for gunnery practice at the beach. We were often down at Galveston's Stewart Beach firing 40 and 90 mm (3 1/2" barrel) AA guns, and .30 and .50 cal AA machine guns. Also firing bazookas, throwing grenades, running infiltration courses under machine gun fire, etc. I had to take basic infantry training for 8 weeks twice, since the Infantry would not accept my AA training. I was transferred to 78th Infantry in Dec '43 while on Tenn 2nd Army manuevers and spent, much of '44 and all of '45 in England, France and Germany. I also remember large pecan orchards there. During the 1950s weekly delivery trucks used to pass through my town of Nederland with the motto: "Nuts to you from the Hitchcock Pecan Company." - W.T. It's private property now - a coating company has a building there, but you can look around (but remembering it is private property). It's eerie walking among these huge abandoned towers. There are four towers. I don't know how tall they are but I'm guessing maybe 200 feet. And there are skeletal remains of a building that ran between two towers. The only things left are the supporting beams that stretch for nearly three hundred yards. Exactly how they used the towers I don't know. I would've loved to go inside the towers and climb up, rung by rung, to the top. Actually I would have been terrified, but more curious than terrified. Alas, when I checked each tower the door was locked. But you can look inside and see miscellaneous junk stored from the coating company, and the rungs leading up the tower. A hundred yards from the towers is a huge concrete area. I'm not sure how the air base used that area, but nowadays it is being used by a go-cart club; and today I heard carts buzzing like huge mosquitoes. I felt like I was transported back in time. Black and white newsreels that I carry in my mind from hundreds of TV documentaries were suddenly in color and three dimensions. If this were a movie I would look up and see a jaunty young fellow walking toward me. He would look and sound snappy but vaguely out of style although I wouldn't notice it much as he eagerly shows me around and he seems to know this place like.... and just as suddenly he's gone and I would have a ghost story to tell. In real life I met up with an old boy in a ball cap and pickup truck who asked me in a slightly irritated tone what I was doing there. He's the owner of the coating company and just wants to keep tabs on folks who wander through." - William Holmes, Arlington, Texas, February 28, 2007 Forum I was really intrigued with the Hitchcock Naval Air Station article by William Holmes having just recently read its Historical Marker in the 'Why Stop?' book. I dismissed the idea that it should go on the 'Must See Wish List' because the Marker stated that 'after hurricane damage in 1961 the blimp hangar was razed.' The hangar, yes. But not the massive door hangers. Tillamook Air Museum, former Naval Blimp Hangar Former Naval "Blimp" Hangar (now the Tillamook Air Museum) shows what the Hitchcock hangar would've looked like in its heyday. Photo Courtesy Barclay Gibson, 2006 Anyway, I immediately knew what the structures were because similar blimps hangars were built on the Oregon coast near Tillamook in WWII, now housing the Tillamook Air Museum. In the closeup picture (above) you can see the huge concrete door hangars on the end of the hangar. I'd bet each door weighed more than a blimp did. It must be the last blimp hangar left as it is now billed as the largest wooden structure in the world. Nearby are two pillars just like the ones pictured by Mr Holmes, where four bare concrete door hangars are still standing. When you realize that these are just the door hangers, the hangar itself was truly massive. Google Earth has excellent aerial pictures of the Hitchcock pillars which show up well because of the long shadows they project in the afternoon sun. Hitchock Naval Air Station is now on [my] 'Must See Wish List.' There are many things in our city that I believe most are unaware of regarding the history of Hitchcock, Galveston County and Island, and Texas itself!
I strongly suggest, especially to our new citizens moving to town perhaps from other states, to vist our local Hitchcok museum https://www.hitchcockpubliclibrary.org/Archives%20Depa…/hhsm If you are not already familiar with Mr. Sam Collins he is a very knowledgeable local Hitchcock historian, particularly a wealth of information on African-American/Slavery history then get to know him. Sam Collins is well known for his tours on the education speaking circuit as well as engaging with many celebrity advocates and political activists. He is an A&M graduate and owner of Stringfellow Orchard 7902 Hwy 6, Hitchcock, TX 77563 He serves on several other boards including National Trust for Historic Preservation, Rosenberg Library Trustee, and the Ruby Bridges Foundation (National Board). Sam’s past board service includes Galveston Historical Foundation, Old Central Cultural Center, NIA Cultural Center, Galveston Chamber of Commerce, Galveston Economic Development Partnership, Texas Historical Commission State Board of Review, and Texas A & M University Letterman’s association. Sam is a fine father and devoted family man with a strong faith and we are proud to have him be in so much service to our community for many years. But his work has not received the recognition that I personally believe he deserves that benefits our town in so many ways However, he. being a humble man who's only interest has been to get his research out to the public to inspire, develop interest, and create pride in our heritage. The Bryan Museum is introducing a lecture series that will help expand the narrative of Galveston and Texas history.

Nicholstone home is the oldest house in Dickinson
Built in the 1850's, the Nicholstone home is the oldest house in Dickinson. Ebenezer Nichols, a very successful Galveston businessman built it as a summer home. Legend has it that Nichols consulted with Native Americans to determine the highest point on the Dickinson Bayou so as not to flood. The home is located at California and Park Avenue, hidden by trees from the street, but sometimes in winter, the cupula is visible from the bayou. The house did not flood during Harvey’s historic 50 inches of rain. My name is Andre Perkins and I am running for City Commissioner District 4, I am a lifelong resident of Galveston County and was born in Texas City and educated in the La Marque public school system.
I have strong family ties to both La Marque and Hitchcock. My mother's family, The Bells, were one of the founding families of La Marque along with the Hobgood's and Britton's. My Father's family, The Perkins legacy is also well known in Hitchcock. My grandfather, Tommie Perkins, was an avid football fan and community supporter. A memorial stone is placed at the "old" Bulldog stadium in his remembrance, I have lived in HItchcock since 2008 shortly after the devastating Hurricane Ike. In 2009, I married the love of my life, Ronnae Perkins, and we decided to make Hitchcock our forever home. Our oldest two children are graduates of Hitchcock High School and our son is currently a junior. I am currently the Director of Facilities and Safety at the former Mall of the Mainland which is now the newly developed Mainland City Centre where I have had the pleasure of being employed for the past 12 years. As the Director of Facilities and Safety, I work closely with the developers and I am instrumental to the entire developmental process. Although I may not have much experience in politics, I have chosen to run for this position because I know I will offer a fresh face and new ideas to old problems. I am concerned as well as I care about the residents and business owners in our beloved city. I will diligently work alongside everyone to ensure that there is understanding and communication between everyone. As your commissioner, I will always be there for you just as I am today. It is my goal to put Hitchcock, Texas on the map in a good and positive way as well as to thrive not just today but tomorrow and in the future. #PerkinsforthePeople Thank you for your support and vote. Andre Perkins. The City of Hitchcock Police Department would like to congratulate Ranger Capt. James Thomas on his promotion! Last year Ranger Thomas instructed A report writing Class for HPD Officers that proved to be very informative and useful. Our Officers were very grateful for the knowledge Ranger Thomas displayed. Well done sir, and best of luck. "If" you have been a follower of my post, then you may understand how weird I can be.LOL! But for all of my efforts and intentions, they are meant to be as positive, humorous, or inspirational as possible although my post at times may not be coming across this way to some folks. But the fact is, that others misinterpretations have very little to do with me So many things that folks, unfortunately, choose to participate in things or with people that are disturbing to them in some way. For many, they keep coming or going right back to the very same things that they find disturbing. So this is the reason why I made the statement that it has very little to do with me. Or with other People, Places, and Things that disturb them as well. I also make many typos in my post at times. But I have been trying my best lately to slow down and proof-read. But my mind races, and I find it difficult to catch them all. Even when I review and edit my post many times. But for those who do enjoy my stories and my dear friends who accept this about me, they tend to overlook these errors and still enjoy them. Thank You! Although for some who cannot tolerate mistakes, that frustration can serve as a "Distraction." Which is the topic of this story-post? Being "Distracted from the Good" by only seeing the perceived Bad. And what is perceived as bad may only be in many instances the person's attitude and perspectives. "If Your Looking For Something To Be Wrong, Then You Are Bound To Find It" For example. Sometimes when I make a story post, like now, and as you will see below, I choose to use Upper Case Captial Letters. Why? Because I just felt like it. I have had on occasion a "disturbed" individual that has replied to me that when I do use Upper Case Captial Letters that it....well...it disturbed them. And so they feel compelled to tell me that they didn't read it because I did. Ummmmm? ugh? Ok. Feel better now? Really? Well if that were the case then that person completely missed the message that had been intended to be useful, helpful, funny, enlightening. or whatever could have been beneficial. A Person having disgruntled feelings from the expectation of anything in life, for things to be the way that that it should be, according to them, is almost always leaving a human being. on some level. "Disappointed". And having certain expectations that lead to disappointment is yet again a whole other post for another time. But for now on with this post. And we begin. Never Lose Faith In God! Just When The Darkness Seems To Prevail And All Is Lost. When Your Hopes Seems To Fade And Diminish Into Defeat That Is A Distraction. And When All Your Efforts And Energy Become Weary And Weak From The False Narratives Whispered In Our Ears, That It "Does No Good, No Matter How Right And Just You Are. This Is The Most Common Tool Of The Adversary. The Enemy Of God And Humankind. Whose Purpose Is To Distract Us All From The Good, And From All Of Our Accomplishments And Achievements too. It Wants Us To Have "Doubt" In Our Own Faith!" The Seeds Of Doubt Planted In Our Minds. But We May Be Distracted Because We Are Not Alone With God. Even In A Bustling Crowd Or In Chaos We Can Be Alone With God. The Enemy Wants Us To Be Blind To Our Progress, Blessings, And Privileges. The Grace That Exist Everyday In The World And Bestowed Upon Each One Of Us! But This Enemy Is Not More Powerful Than God Is. No, It Is Not! Bit It Would Have Folks And Even Some Christians Believe In Fear, That The Enemy Is Equal To God. It Would Be Foolish For Me To Ignore The Enemy Of God! But Even More Foolish To Recognize It "Before" I Give My Will And My Life Over To The Care Of God. And If I Am Able To Securely And Confidently Believe In The Love Of Christ Safety And Divine Guardianship, Then I Most Certainly Can Walk Through The Valley Of The Shadows Of Death And Fear No Evil. For I Walk Alone With God. But It Is Very Clever And Influential! I Cannot Be Angry At This Enemy For Doing Its Job And The Reason God Allows It To Exist. Because This Enemy Only Has The Power That I Too Allow To It To Have Over Me. I Know This To Be True In My Life! We All Do, Who Believe In 100% Faith And Belief. Whether We Falter Or Sin Daily, That God Is Omnipotent, Infinite, Eternal And The Ultimate Creator Of All Things. Therefore In Constant Contact, Openly Or Subconsciously (not fully aware that were are) Through Habitual Prayer, We Are Always With God And Living In The Truth And Power That Protects Us From The Enemy. We Are More Likely To See And In Deep Gratitude Appreciate Our Blessings One By One. We May Then Throw Away That Long, Long, List Of Personal Regrets. What I "Coulda, Shoulda, And Woulda" Done. But I Didn't. Yet Another Clever Distraction. We Often Set Ourselves Up For Failure. How? Well, By Perhaps Settings Our Goals And Standards Too High Or Too Fast Or Too Much For Us. One Day At A Time Is Keeps Us In The Advantage Position Where Can See Our Progress And Then Can Believe We Are Achieving Our Goals. Yes, another story for another time. But actually, you can find those topics in my story archives. Now That We Have A Better Faith, Then We May Want To Make A New List! A-List Of All The Really Positive Influences Of The Good That You Did For Yourself, Of Others And Even In Society. The smallest things that you may not consider Big but are. Did you say something nice to uplift someday that perhaps they really needed to hear? You may never know. There are literally hundreds perhaps thousands of good deeds and actions that we do every day! Ya Know If We Can Recognize Them They Add Up! What Positive Impacts Are We Having On Others? What Are We Leaving Behind In The Wake Of Our Presence? Our Adversary Is Not Pleased Needles To Say. However, Even If You Didn't Meet All Your Goals It All! An "E- For Effort!"...Tomorrow's Is Another Day, That Is If There Is Another Tomorrow. LOL! No, That's Not A Terrible Thing To Say, Just Reality And Facts! Since Nothing Last Forever On Earth And Another Tomorrow Was Never Guaranteed In The First Place Right? So I "Live" Today Like There's No Tomorrow! Woo Hoo!! But Don't Fear It. I Don't Fear Anything Until I Am In Fear. Say In Fear For My Life Of Course? But So Far (Thank God Almighty) That Has Not Occurred. But Its No Secret I Do Put My Self Out There Sometimes And Ruffle Some Feathers. &$%@ Happens Folk's Good And Bad! So Is Your Glass Half Empty? Half Full? Or Full Of @^%$!! LOL!💩 What's That? You Can't Come Up With Anything Positive That You Do? Not One Good Positive Thing!? That Is Even More Evidence That The Adversary/Enemy Is Doing Its Job. And Well I Might Add!! This Negative Force Enjoys Sitting In A Lawn Chair With A Nice, Tall, Cool Glass Of Fresh Lemonade While Watching Those Who Promote Chaos, Destruction And Division Do Its Job For It! So Why Does This Deceiver Of Lies Have So Much Power? If It Needs No Assistance From Us? That Exactly What Its Purpose? It Has No Interest In Going After The Anarchist Or The Depressed, The Angry, The Unhappy, etc. So What And Whom Is Its Target? Well To Use All It's Strength To Go After The Faithful Of Course! Those Who Have A Positive, Realistic Optimism Embedded In Their Cognitive Outlook Even Amid The Darkest Of Times! Like Right Now! The More You Turn To God, The More Of A Target You Are! But What Can We Do Together That Works? And Always Works If We Work It? Knowledge, Awareness, And Recognition Are A Winning Strategy Folks. That's Why Knowledge Is Power! The More You Know, The More Prepared You Are, And The More Likely To Keep Yourself In The Advantaged Position! Remember This Word. "Options!" The Very First Independence Bestowed On Humankind! "Free Will" The Choice Of Right And Wrong! And If We Do Wrong, Then The Option/Choice To Learn From Wrong Is An In Opportunity To Learn What Is The Right Things Too Do! We May Not Always Do Right. But Now We Know The Differences. Now And That Makes Us Knowledgeable, Aware And Responsible Too. For Our Own Actions And Choices. Every Time I Or Any Other Person Reaches Out With A Message Of Hope. Inspiration, Encouragement, Empowerment, Or Any Other Kind, Loving, Motivational, Healing Or Supportive Message That We May Share From Our Own Experience That Gives Us Wisdom....... Then The More People The Message Reaches And Influences Hope. So Now Back To That Positive Check List. Food? check. Shelter? check. Heat, Water, Air Conditioning? check. Modern Conveniences/Technology? Transportation? Family, Friends, Family, Love, Security? check. Well-being, Emotionally/Mentally/Spiritually? check. Arms. Legs, Eyes, Ears? Over Health? check. check and check And What Of Freedom? That Should Bring Some Light To How Truly Blessed We All Are. Lets Us All Pray (if you choose to) To The Lord, Our Savior, Jesus Christ, For All Others Who Do Not Have These Precious Gifts From The Father, The Son, And The Holy Spirit. And I Proclaim This Unapologetically, In Hopes That It Does Not Disturb or Distract Anyone From My Intentions Of Sharing Solutions Through Love And Kindness. Even Though I Have Days Where I Just Want To @$#^ At Some Foks And &*!@& And Then +@*% And.......oh I am so sorry. I haven't had lunch yet and get a lil cranky. LOL! So I Will Now Conclude This Novel Long Post By Pointing Out Simple Human Propensity. When We Question Why God Would Allow All This Disturbance To Occur ..Then That Should Be Even More Evidence That You Are Being Distracted....... I Mean It's Ok To Want To Know Why?, Just Try Your Best To Not Let It All Distract You From All The Beauty In The World All Around Us As We Speak. Mountains, Streams, Forest, Children Playing And Laughing, Family Meals, Blue Skies, White Fluffy Clouds, Green Grass, Flowers, Animals, Art, Rainbows, Music, and on and on and on and on...... These are things that God Made. What You See On The Nightly MedAllowance To Let Our Human Egos To Be Influenced By The Enemy. No, It Is Not Complicated, But rather Very Simple. In A Childs Faith. Let Go And Let God. You, Will, Feel So Much Better. I Promise. Yes, I Just Made A Promise. Trust In God And See. Thanks once again for letting me share! Peace Out! As always my story posts are opinionated and theoretical.
However, I create them according to my own personal research based on, credible studies and investigations. Much of which can be found as factual documentation from experts, professionals, theologists, scientists, etc. who do study human life world creation as a career and who earn and hold degrees from renowned academic institutions that can be found and verified. In other words, I do know a little about what I am writing about. LOL! In this story, I would like to offer not only my own personal opinions but also my own life experience for Understanding what Empathy is. And how to understand what an Empath (empathic/empathetic person) is.as it applies to the phenomena of the human connection. So we begin with what can be adverse challenges and obstacles experienced by the sensitive child who has no psychological defenses for what is occurring around them. To them, life can become unexpected, disoriented, and even shocking. This can create a life journey of confusion, hurt, and emotional under-development. It is Healthy Emotional Development that is needed to cope with life's adversities effectively and healthily. Unfortunately, an adult or child can feel hurled into chaotic, unstable, and fearful environments. Where the view of life is radical and inconsistent. In the most violent conditions, there is greater opportunity to develop PTSD (Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder) a disorder in which a person has difficulty recovering after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event. Symptoms may include nightmares or unwanted memories of the trauma, avoidance of situations that bring back memories of the trauma, heightened reactions, anxiety, or depressed mood. Treatment includes different types of trauma-focused psychotherapy as well as medications to manage symptoms. Now there can be a theoretical debate on whether Therapy and Medication allow for greater empathy or blocks out memories and feelings to avoid triggers that may worsen their condition. But I think the answer to this debate would lie in that "If" the victim could find forgiveness of themselves in cases where they may feel guilty, shameful, or responsible for what had occurred to them despite the harm coming from someone else. Then there can be a realization (awakening) that this is a false belief that they were the cause of their own afflictions that are happening or have happened to them in the past. And if possible to forgive the victim's abusers as well (yet never forgetting what they did of course). Tall Order! I get it! But to make peace with the trauma they had experienced/witnessed, then over time perhaps all that harmful exposure becomes a compassionate and "Empathetic Wisdom" But again and again, I will testify and profess that it can only be from the Love of Christ, The Father, and the Holy Spirit as one that was possible for me as is and was for Billions of folks on the planet. It can be emotionally and spiritually harvested as a skill and shared with another victim who has suffered or is suffering from a closely familiar, traumatic experiences, on a level that perhaps years-long studied, behavioral scientists, may not be as able to do, as could a person who has actually "Been There, Done That". But healing, and opening up channels take all kinds of positive collective support with many others in the many fields of human recovery. Healthy, emotional development, creates rational, mature, decision making, and secure conclusions to deal with our lifetime of problems and personal concerns. Healthy Emotional Development helps us to become manageable, organized, productive, and successful human beings. We can achieve and accomplish positive goals. Which brings us back to the story post topic of Understanding Empathy as Empathy being Understanding for Understanding Empaths. Yes indeed there is not only a connection between "Empathy and "Healthy Emotional Development" but they are critical when working together. Together they may determine how our mental health in many areas allows the empath to be more focused, open-minded, and receptive to what is believed by many to be spiritual channels or metaphysical energies. Now the chances of overcoming tragedy and trauma from desolated circumstances "alone" are very low. But what is common with those who do survive and overcome their traumas through recovery? Two things are common. The life-changing (negative) journey left behind can leave one devastated. They may feel and believe their emotional damage is a permanent state of mind. What they may not know is, (as I believe), that the God of my own understanding that unquestionably and without doubt saved me, is a God that Loves and Uses Broken hearts to testify to the healing miracles that only my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can perform. Survivors of trauma, through divine intervention, can also develop an amazing degree of wisdom from their own experiences, Perhaps from their worse. Their life journey that had caused so much pain now is an expansive and powerful sense of empathy. Are you the type of person who cries at movies? Or when a friend is leaning on you after the loss of a loved one? Can you feel their feelings? For many their life journeys enhance and heighten the empath's sensitivity to another person's emotions. As the person who is sharing their problems, issues, concerns, tragedies (as well as their joys), the empath can walk (closely by the side of the person sharing), but factually cannot walk in his or her shoes. I believe that no one can fully have the exact same experience as another individual. Not even if they have seemingly identical experiences. Now let's talk about what is known as "Physic abilities" and how Empathy plays a dual role in sensing other folk's experiences. (Chiefly in unproven science) psychic abilities are when a person is a conduit for the "Paranormal" activity to apprehend the mental or emotional state of another individual. There are Billions of skeptical people that may not have a large presence of Empathetic or Psychic abilities perhaps because they do not, cannot, or will not, believe it is possible. Although I believe that all humans possess sensory perception on a level in some way. Theoretically, It may depend on the event happening such as an emergency situation that some folks may discover their own sensory perceptions. It is said that sensitive humans are also able to sense and see certain energies such as spirts/angels/apparitions/ lost loved ones etc.. And again, this could be yet another story post for another time. One story seems to always leave questions for another if you a curious cat like me. And so far, I'm still alive! LOL! Extrasensory perception (ESP) as it applies to an empath could also appear as Dreams or De Javu. It could be when you are in a relationship and in love that you finish each other's thoughts and words. There is a connection between these two people. And who hasn't heard the endless stories of the Mother/child connection? As an example when suddenly the Mother senses that her child is in danger she then stops immediately what she is doing! In a panic, she runs to the phone or to her car driving to where she knows or senses where her child is. Such as at school, a playground, or a friend's house? The Mother is sensing her child in peril. I believe this to be true because of the deep, deep connection of a Mother and child "living as one life" during pregnancy. Maybe even much more than that. Beyond life? And if that bond is nurtured with love and a healthy and supportive environment it is more likely that bond may never be broken. Mothers' love may be one of the most evident examples of empathy. Are many of us who connect and feel like one, unexplainably be known as Old Souls? Kindred Spirits? Could it be that if we were all created from one infinite and omnipotent creator that we humans all are connected? However, being a sensitive person can have its setbacks too. You may sense things that you would prefer not too. If you are overly sensitive you may tend to be easily offended or take on other folks' problems inadvertently. Regardless of how sensitive a person who has the gift or curse of empathy is, in certain cases, I would advise seeking a positive and established support group. There are exceptions for those who naturally identify themselves as an empath and have the ability to accept, control, and employ these emotional talents to heal others through empathetic understanding These support groups of many kinds are gathering places for empaths who have overcome trauma. They most always find the power and knowledge that (I believe) only God's love can give us as we give God's love to each other. Woo Hoo! Thanks again for letting me share. Love And Understanding Diminish Fear.🤩 |
The City of Hitchcock is located on Hwy 6 in Galveston County 10 north of Galveston and 30 miles south of Houston.
Hitchcock is a city in Galveston County, Texas, United States. The population was 6,386 at the 2000 census. Hitchcock was created as a station of the railroad between Galveston and Houston in 1873 and around the turn of the 20th century became a vegetable shipping center. The settlement's economy crashed in the 1930s after insect plagues in the surrounding areas, and the area stayed impoverished until the establishment of both an anti-aircraft training base and the Hitchcock Naval Air Station at the beginning of World War II.
