SEABROOK, TEXAS —

The Seabrook Police Department and the City of Seabrook have strengthened their emergency response capabilities with the addition of a specialized Emergency Rescue Vehicle to the city’s public safety fleet.

The vehicle was obtained through the Law Enforcement Support Office program in partnership with the State of Texas, allowing the city to acquire the unit at no cost to local taxpayers.
Built for High-Risk SituationsThe Emergency Rescue Vehicle is designed to assist officers during high-risk and critical incidents, including situations such as:
  • Active-shooter responses
  • Barricaded suspects
  • Hostage scenarios
  • Tactical rescue operations
These vehicles are built to provide enhanced protection and mobility for first responders, allowing officers to safely move personnel and equipment during dangerous situations where standard patrol vehicles may not offer adequate protection.
A Regional ResourceBecause only a limited number of agencies in the region maintain vehicles with these capabilities, Seabrook has been selected to house and maintain the unit. In addition to serving the local community, the vehicle may also be deployed to assist neighboring cities during major incidents.
Through mutual aid partnerships, the specialized unit can support other law enforcement agencies throughout the region when additional resources are needed during critical events.
Strengthening Public SafetyCity officials say the addition of the vehicle reflects Seabrook’s ongoing commitment to public safety preparedness and regional cooperation. By leveraging programs like LESO, local agencies can access specialized equipment that improves response capabilities while minimizing costs for the community.
Residents can learn more about the city’s public safety initiatives and other updates from the City of Seabrook on the city’s official website.

Pearland Police Academy Cadet Class #7 Receives Guidon Flag — A Milestone of Honor and Unity

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TEXAS --

A proud moment unfolded this week as Pearland Police Academy Cadet Class #7 received its Guidon Flag, marking an important milestone in the cadets’ journey toward becoming the next generation of law enforcement officers.

The ceremony represents far more than a symbolic presentation. In law enforcement and military traditions, the guidon flag serves as a powerful emblem of unity, discipline, honor, and shared purpose. With this moment, Cadet Class #7 officially stands together as a team — committed to training, service, and the responsibility that comes with protecting their communities.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office shared their pride in the occasion, celebrating not only the academy class as a whole but also the two BCSO deputies currently training within the program.
A Tradition Rooted in HistoryThe tradition of the guidon flag dates back to some of the earliest military units. Historically carried into formation and even into battle, the guidon served as a rally point for soldiers and a symbol representing the identity and strength of a unit.
Over time, the guidon evolved into a ceremonial and motivational symbol used across military, law enforcement, and training academies. Today, receiving a guidon signifies the moment when a group of recruits becomes a cohesive team with shared pride, responsibility, and identity.
For Pearland Police Academy Cadet Class #7, receiving the guidon flag represents the point where individual recruits formally become a united class moving forward together through the challenges of academy training.
A Partnership in TrainingThe Pearland Police Department continues to play an important role in regional law enforcement training by hosting the academy program, which prepares cadets for the demanding realities of modern policing.
The academy provides intensive training that focuses on:
  • Law enforcement procedures
  • Physical fitness and tactical readiness
  • Ethics and professionalism
  • Community policing and public safety
  • Teamwork and leadership development
These programs ensure that future officers are well prepared to serve with professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
A Moment of Pride for Brazoria CountyFor the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, the milestone holds special significance as two of their deputies are part of Cadet Class #7. Their participation highlights the continued commitment of local agencies to invest in strong training and professional development for the officers who serve communities across the county.
Moments like the presentation of a guidon flag remind everyone involved — from cadets to instructors to community members — that law enforcement is built on teamwork, discipline, and dedication.
Looking AheadAs Cadet Class #7 continues through the academy, the guidon will serve as a constant reminder of the unity and responsibility they now share.
It represents the start of a journey that will ultimately lead these cadets into careers dedicated to protecting and serving their communities.
The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office also extended appreciation to the Pearland Police Department for hosting and supporting the academy, strengthening partnerships that benefit the entire region.

Army Apache Helicopters Make Powerful Stop at Sugar Land Regional Airport Before Houston Rodeo Flyover
SUGAR LAND, TEXAS — Visitors at Sugar Land

Regional Airport recently witnessed an unforgettable moment as several U.S. Army AH-64 Apache helicopters touched down for a quick stop before taking part in a special flyover at one of Texas’ most iconic events.

The helicopters, part of the 1st Cavalry Division, stopped at the airport to refuel on their way to the Armed Forces Appreciation Day flyover at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, a tradition that honors the service and sacrifice of America’s military men and women.

The powerful aircraft created quite a scene on the runway as their massive rotors thundered overhead before settling onto the tarmac.

Airport Operations Agent Roshan Regi captured incredible photos of the helicopters during their brief visit, giving the community a rare close-up look at one of the U.S. Army’s most recognizable aircraft.

A Rare Close-Up of a Legendary Aircraft

The AH-64 Apache is one of the most advanced attack helicopters in the world.
Known for its strength, agility, and cutting-edge technology, the aircraft plays a critical role in U.S. military operations by providing reconnaissance, close air support, and protection for ground forces.

Seeing these aircraft up close is not something most civilians get the opportunity to experience, making the brief stop in Sugar Land an exciting moment for aviation enthusiasts and community members alike.

Honoring Those Who Serve

The flyover at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was part of the event’s annual Armed Forces Appreciation Day, a special moment dedicated to recognizing the bravery and commitment of the men and women who serve in the United States military.

Moments like these serve as powerful reminders of the dedication and professionalism of our armed forces — and the pride communities across Texas feel when honoring them.

The City of Sugar Land expressed its appreciation to the servicemembers involved, sharing gratitude to those currently serving and those who have served in the past.

A Moment That Turned Heads

For those lucky enough to see the helicopters arrive at the airport, it was an impressive sight: the unmistakable sound of Apache rotors echoing across the airfield and the powerful aircraft standing tall on the runway before continuing their mission.

Even a short stop like this can turn into a memorable moment for the local community — a glimpse of military aviation power and a reminder of the people behind it.

The heart of a community is often revealed in its quiet, meaningful moments — and today was one of those moments in Kemah.

The Kemah Police Department proudly spent time with the incredible children of Abby’s Brave Buddies Playdates Organization, a support group dedicated to kids who are cancer survivors and those still courageously fighting the battle.

It wasn’t about sirens or patrol cars.
It wasn’t about enforcement.
It was about presence, compassion, and showing up.

A Day Focused on Smiles

Thanks to the generous team at the Kemah Boardwalk, these brave young warriors were treated to lunch and a full day of fun at the amusement park.
For a few beautiful hours, hospital visits and treatments were replaced with laughter, rides, and unforgettable memories.

Officers shared high-fives, smiles, and simple conversations — reminding everyone that law enforcement isn’t just about protecting a city, but caring for the people who call it home.

Supporting Our Strongest Fighters

Abby’s Brave Buddies Playdates Organization creates a safe and uplifting environment for children and families navigating the unimaginable challenges of childhood cancer. The group provides connection, encouragement, and most importantly, hope.
Events like this matter.
They give children something joyful to look forward to.

They give families a sense of community.
They remind us all that we are stronger together.

A Community That Shows UpThe partnership between Kemah PD and the Kemah Boardwalk is a beautiful example of what happens when public service and local businesses unite for a greater cause.

Today was more than a playdate.

It was a reminder that courage comes in small packages — and that sometimes the most powerful badge is a compassionate heart.

As these children continue their fight, we ask the community to keep them and their families in your prayers. 🙏🏼

Because in Kemah, we stand with our brave buddies — every step of the way.

Galveston Police Department

In a powerful moment of gratitude and recognition, the Mayor and City Council of Galveston honored members of the Galveston Police Department at last night’s council meeting for their extraordinary response to the December 23, 2025 aircraft crash near the Galveston Causeway.
The incident, involving a Mexican military aircraft that went down in dangerously poor weather conditions, called for immediate action under intense and unpredictable circumstances.
Visibility was low.
Conditions were treacherous.
The risk was real.

But hesitation was never part of the equation.
Answering the Call Without PauseOfficers from the department’s initial response units and dive teams moved swiftly toward the crash site, placing themselves directly in harm’s way.
While others sought safety from the severe weather, these men and women stepped into uncertainty with purpose — securing the scene, coordinating emergency efforts, and conducting rescue and recovery operations with professionalism and resolve.

Their actions were not just part of a job description.
They were a reflection of training, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to protect life — no matter the cost.

Courage When Conditions Were at Their WorstThe weather on December 23 was described as extremely poor, creating additional hazards for both ground and water operations.
Yet even in the face of limited visibility and unpredictable conditions, the officers remained focused and mission-driven.

Dive team members entered dangerous waters. First responders stabilized the perimeter and ensured that recovery efforts could proceed safely and efficiently.
Each role was critical.
Each action mattered.

A Community’s GratitudeDuring the council meeting, city leadership formally recognized these officers for their dedication and bravery.
It was a moment not only of commendation but of collective appreciation — a reminder that behind every badge is a human being willing to step forward when others cannot.

In times of crisis, communities rely on the courage of those sworn to serve.
On December 23, 2025, the Galveston Police Department demonstrated exactly what that oath looks like in action.

Their response was swift.
Their commitment was unwavering.
Their bravery was undeniable.

And Galveston is stronger because of it.
