Kemah Police Department **Patriot Award Recipient ** The League City Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted a Patriots Awards luncheon to honor commendable First Responders of League City and Galveston County. The Kemah Police Department was honored to learn that, after being nominated, our very own Officer Brown was selected to be 1 of 7 recipients of the Patriot Award. Officer Brown received this award due to an incident that occurred on May 9. On this date, Officer Brown assisted a Clear Lake Shores Officer with a domestic disturbance call. After arriving at the location, an individual inside the residence began shooting multiple rounds toward both officers. Thankfully, Officer Brown was able to see the shooter's actions begin to quickly unfold, and Officer Brown, without hesitation, pulled his partner and himself away from the line of fire and off from the second story of the residence. Officer Brown then provided protection for his partner who had sustained a medical injury due to the fall from the second story. The Kemah Police Department is extremely proud of Officer Brown for the outstanding diligence in his profession he demonstrates every day. When asked how it feel to receive this award, the modest Officer Brown stated, “Thank You, but I am just doing my job.” Help us congratulate Officer Brown for a job Well Done!!!
