𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Galveston Career Connect GCC student intern William Watts is offered a full-time position with G&H Towing by Captain Cody Libby! This historical moment occurred last night at GCC's End of the Year Celebration & Awards Ceremony at Ball High School. William was also honored for internships with Gulf Copper, Industrial Material Corp. (IMC), and Broome Welding & Machine Co. All four student internships provided by the Moody Education Foundation GCC program have earned Watts $2,000. GCC's Welding pathway is led by Career Connect Advisor Lisa Dill. The Career Connect program led by Eric Paul, GISD's CTE Director, has over 575 students participating from all schools on Galveston Island. The GCC supports learners in their efforts to gain college hours through Galveston College while earning industry-recognized certifications in the career pathways of: Patient Care Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, Information Technology, Engineering, Welding, and Electronics.
