Dickinson Independent School District The Dickinson High School One Act Play, “The Tin Wonan,” is headed to the State Meet after an incredible performance during the regional competition this afternoon. They were one of two plays chosen to advance to the State Meet. This is the first time since the 1970’s for a DHS One Act Play to compete at the state level. The 6A State Meet is scheduled for Saturday, May 6 in Round Rock ISD! We are very Gator Proud! Congratulations to the cast, crew, and directors! Dickinson Independent School District The Gators had a great day! Congratulations also to the Dickinson High School 4x400 Relay Team on their Area Championship! Dickinson Independent School District Dickinson ISD is asking voters to consider a $120 million bond referendum during the May 6 election. The Board of Trustees approved calling for the election at the February 6 board action meeting. The projects identified in the bond referendum focus on the increasing student enrollment, additional safety and security needs, and the growing student interest in career and technical education programs. If the bond is approved, the district’s tax rate of $1.294 will not increase. The growing housing population, appraisals and refinancing of existing debt all contribute to keeping the tax rate the same. As early voting approaches, Dickinson ISD would like to answer frequently asked questions in regard to the bond. Today’s frequently asked question is: “How many years will the additional tax burden last?” It is a 30-year commitment. However, the District will take advantage of refinancing opportunities and will always be looking for ways to reduce the taxpayer burden.
