The LMHS Big Blue Band visited Jackson, MS over the weekend.
The students got a chance to see the world-famous Jackson State University Sonic Boom of the South and Southern University’s Human Jukebox.
The students also got to meet both directors of bands and visit the Jackson State University Campus.
For many, it was their first visit to a university.
Jabari Webb, Cairo Roberson, Haleigh Caldera and Raymond Mays each secured audition dates from both universities in which they will audition for full-tuition scholarships in March!
LMHS Band Director Kevin Black said, "The band would like to thank Dr. Duarte, Mr. Lyon, TCISD Administration and the LMHS Booster Club for their support. While there, the band also received invitations to both The Southern University and Jackson State University Concert Band festivals."
