City of Galveston, Texas - Government
The City of Galveston’s Tree Committee is asking that all residents become aware of lethal bronzing in local palm trees. Palm trees on the island at risk include Canary Island date Palm, Sabal palmetto, Queen Palms and more. Symptoms of a tree being impacted by bronzing are: • Sudden fruit drop • Browning leaves • Spear leaf death • Root rot Residents can contact a certified arborist if they notice symptoms in a tree.
