Galveston County, Texas · The Bayshore County Annex is set to open its doors on February 20th, 2023. This new facility is a result of the growing demand for county services and the need for better access to the government for residents. Originally built in 1990, the previous annex building was nearly 32 years old and had not been updated since construction. With the population of Galveston County having increased by 61% since its construction, it was clear that a new facility was necessary. This new 9,500 sq ft facility will house the Commissioner Pct. 1 Office, Justice of the Peace Court for Pct. 1, and office for the Constable Pct. 1, providing residents with significantly improved services. The cost of the project is $6.2 million and was approved by voters in the 2017 Bond, as part of a larger $33 million investment in the future of Galveston County. The old facility was demolished in October 2021 and construction was completed by Durotech, Inc. with design by Joiner Architects, Inc. We would like to extend a special thank you to the county judge, commissioners court, county officials, and all the residents who came out to the ceremony to support this important milestone for Galveston County, Texas The King of Solar Screens
