Summer Camps at Ball HS Band Hall
July 11-13th Leadership Camp 9am-5pm
July 17-21st Drumline and Front Ensemble (FE) Camp
8am-5pm
July 24-28th Freshmen/Newbie Camp 8am-330pm
Newbie: all freshmen, new members, and Student Leadership (NO Percussion)
July 31st- Aug. 4th and 7-11th
Full Band and Drumline/FE 8am-5pm
Aug. 11th – Marching Band Showcase 5-6pm
Band Booster Meeting and Recruiting 6-6:30pm
All Band members must attend their camp/camps. All absences must be reported to Mr. Farrell and/or Mr. Vowell. Please email Mr. Farrell ASAP.
All students must pay Band Fee of $65.00 for their Band t-shirt, dry cleaning (uniform), instrument rental, and small equipment needs (valve oil, mouthpieces, reeds, flip folders, sticks etc.) and clinicians for the year. Other programs charge as much as $300 per year and we feel that $65 is fair.
All Band members are required to own a pair of Black Marching Band shoes. The Ball HS band uses Drillmasters. They can be ordered online at www.bandshoppe.com or any other site. Google Drillmaster Shoes and find the best deal.
NO DRESS SHOES! Safety is an issue because they provide zero traction.
Students will also need to have a physical by the beginning of Summer Camp. Paperwork for the physicals can be found at your student’s school Teen Health Clinic or at the Ball HS Athletic Office and website.
It is very important that we start the new school year in the right direction by being prepared and having everything in order prior to the start of the camps. I am looking forward to our success! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
Band Camps are very demanding and you must be prepared. Here are a few things that you should bring/ have. Always wear athletic apparel (NO JEANS). Bring sunscreen and maybe a hat. Also, bring your own water container/jug. Water will be provided but it is best to have your own. Students should bring their own 1 inch 3 ring binder with 5-8 sheet protectors. Students will also be responsible for all of the meals but we will look into any food services that might be to our students.
Freshmen will NOT go to the Freshmen Tor Camp. They will be dismissed to go get what they need but will NOT participate in the full event as Mr. Farrell gives a tour of the building during Freshmen Camp.
