Ray Nolen for Sheriff Sheriff Henry Trochesset announced his formal endorsement of my campaign for Galveston County Sheriff. Having worked with and for Sheriff Trochesset for over 30 years, I know this endorsement is a genuine nod to the person he would be most comfortable with protecting public safety in the wake of his retirement, and I am honored to be that candidate. RAY NOLEN FOR SHERIFF Major Ray Nolen started his career in public service at age 17 when he joined the Medical Explorers Post, later becoming a volunteer firefighter for the LaPorte Volunteer Fire Department. He began a professional public safety career in 1987, at age 21, where he became a paramedic at the City of La Porte Emergency Medical Service. Quickly rising through the ranks, he became Assistant Chief of EMS at age 25 until a promotion to Chief of EMS in 2004. During most of his service in EMS, Ray also served as a Reserve Deputy with Galveston County Sheriff's Office and was promoted through the ranks to Major over the Reserve Bureau. When retired as Chief of EMS in 2019 he was not finished in public service and accepted a full-time position as Patrol Commander for the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office. Today, he protects Galveston County citizens as a Major in the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office overseeing the Criminal Law Enforcement Bureau, which includes divisions of Patrol, Warrant, Criminal Investigations, Special Operations, Marine and the Agency Comptroller. He attended college at San Jacinto College, University of Houston, and completed a Certified Public Manager Graduate Program at Sam Houston State University. Not only focused on public safety, he currently serves as a board member for College of the Mainland’s Police Academy Program and Galveston County Crisis Incident Stress Management Team. He is a former member and past President of the LaPorte Rotary Club and LaPorte Heritage Society. Ray has been on the streets of Galveston County keeping your family safe for over 30 years and he wants to continue serving and protecting the county as your Sheriff. He’ll hold the line against criminals coming from the border, safeguard your second amendment rights, keep your kids safe at school, take a tough on crime approach and leave criminals where they belong. Ray rejects the democrat catch and release idea and will defend our streets from socialist agendas. He is a strong voice that will boldly advocate for Galveston County’s safety needs. Ray and his wife, Michelle, moved to League City in 2006 and have three children and four grandchildren. "As your Sheriff, I will aggressively and continuously plan, implement, deliver, monitor, and evaluate the quality and dedication of public safety services provided to the residents of and visitors to Galveston County". - Ray Nolen Thank you for your support!
