February is Black History Month, an annual celebration of achievements and accomplishments by African Americans.
In honor of Black History Month, the City of Texas City is spotlighting and celebrating some local individuals who have helped shape our community:

D'Onta Foreman, running back for the Carolina Panthers, attended Texas City High School and was a defensive end for the Stings.
In college, he was awarded the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back and was also the recipient of the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.
In the NFL, he has played for the Houston Texans, the Tennessee Titans and the Carolina Panthers.
