Houston SPCA’s Wildlife Center of Texas rescued a nestling Bald Eagle from a nest in Webster TX.2/2/2023 Wildlife Center of Texas Earlier today, the Houston SPCA’s Wildlife Center of Texas was involved in a USFWS approved rescue of a nestling Bald Eagle from a nest in Webster TX. The eaglet, nicknamed “Boots” by the property owner of the nesting site, was rescued after nest cam footage showed him to be struggling to sit up and move around in the nest, impairing his chances for survival. Boots was brought back to the center for rehabilitation due to his poor condition. He is extremely weak, but we are providing around the clock care, including warm fluids and nutritional supplements to try to help him pull through. Once he is more stable, we will assess the apparent deformities in his legs and feet. Thank you to CenterPoint Energy for providing a bucket truck to reach the nest, and to Paul White for keeping a diligent eye on the nest and the health of the eaglets. Gulf Coast Outdoor Works
