On Thursday, October 20, join Friendswood disability nonprofit Hope Village for an afternoon of fashion and fun at their 14 th Annual Glitz and Glamour Style Show, sponsored by Bayway Lincoln & Volvo and Meg Crowley & Family.
Located in the Hope Village Community Center at 15403 Hope Village Road, the Glitz and Glamour Style Show festivities will begin at 11 AM. Before and after the show, guests will have the opportunity to shop with local Houston area vendors and to participate in a Winner’s Choice raffle. Guests will be seated by 11:30 AM, at which time, the fashion show will begin. Residents of Hope Village (Villagers) will open the show by modeling the trends found at the Hope Village Resale Shop, and then local models will take the runway wearing the latest fashions from the Clotheshorse Boutique and Mommie Chic & Me. Following the show, guests will enjoy lunch catered by Robinette and Company and dessert from Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop. Dessert has graciously been sponsored by Derek and Sharon Maetzold. “The Hope Village Glitz & Glamour Style Show is a time-honored tradition, and we are thrilled for its in-person return,” said Samra Smith, Hope Village Director of Community Development. “For 14 years, we have had the chance not only to celebrate local style and businesses throughout the Bay Area community, but also to show through our Villager models that people of all abilities have a passion for glamour and style.” Tickets for the Hope Village Style Show and Luncheon range from $65-$150, based on seating tier. As of publication, runway seats are completely sold out, and limited tickets remain for premium level ($85) and reserved level ($65) seating. Although premium and runway table sponsorships have sold out, a few reserved table sponsorships remain, at a cost of $600 for tables of 8 and $750 for tables of 10. Dissatisfied with the few services available, Mrs. Williams became the driving force behind the planning and building of Hope Village. She sought to create a place that would be a loving home for her daughter and others with similar disabilities. The first home was opened in 1970 with six residents.
