COMMITTED TO KEEPING GALVESTON COUNTY SAFE Jimmy Fullen was elected in 2008 as Constable in Galveston County Precinct 2. After the current Galveston County Sheriff announced in January 2023 that he would not seek re-election, Jimmy Fullen decided he could better serve the citizens of Galveston County by stepping down from his position as the elected Constable and announce his intent to become the Conservative Republican nominee for Galveston County Sheriff in 2024. Combining experience with a driving commitment to serve Galveston County UNRIVALED EXPERIENCE With over 34 years of full-time law enforcement experience, Jimmy Fullen has worked for numerous county law enforcement agencies from the Texas City Police Department to serving as Chief of Police with the Galveston Independent School District. Fullen graduated from the College of the Mainland Law Enforcement Academy with honors. He currently holds a Master Peace Officers license, Texas Commission of Law Enforcement Instructors license, and instructor certification from the Northwest University Traffic Institute. In 2021, Judge Mark Henry appointed Jimmy Fullen as the lead coordinator of the Galveston County Border Security Task Force in charge of spearheading the efforts between constable and sheriff deputies being dispatched to assist with Operation Lone Star. Fullen has made dozens of deployments to the border, where he has served on the front lines keeping violent criminals and deadly drugs from flowing into our local communities. A TRUE TEXAN & RESIDENT OF THE REGION Jimmy Fullen is a 5th generation Texan and lifelong resident of Galveston County with three kids and six grandchildren. He serves on the Board of Directors of the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce and Hitchcock ISD Education Foundation as well as being a founding member of the Santa Fe ISD Education Foundation. Fullen is a longtime sponsor of the Galveston County Fair and Rodeo, along with numerous other charitable organizations including youth athletic programs in Galveston, Hitchcock, League City, and Santa Fe. Increased Public Safety We need to dedicate extra resources to increase proactive policing on our streets and work with regional, state, and federal agencies to improve public safety in Galveston County. A Strong Police Force Currently, local law enforcement agencies are struggling to recruit and retain police officers and sheriff deputies. We need to build a comprehensive plan and implement new policies, professional standards, and develop skills that allow for advancement and improve retention of law enforcement officers. Protect Our Constitutional Rights We need a sheriff who will stand up and protect our Constitutional Rights and Freedoms. Fiscal Responsibility With the Sheriff’s Office making up the largest portion of Galveston County’s budget, we need a sheriff who be mindful of our tax dollars while also ensuring our officers have what they need to keep our community safe.
