Grants in Action!
Sara Farris, Kubacak Elementary, wrote in her grant application, "I teach special needs students. As with all students, my students need to use movement in order to learn.
My students are not always able to provide themselves that movement so I am requesting the items in this project to try and help them get the movement and input they need to organize their minds and bodies to be able to take in information and learn.
In addition, the items in this project can be used to calm students in stressful situations.
I think it is important for special needs students to be as prepared as possible to be out in the real world.
I am hopeful I give my students the opportunities to be as successful as they can and learn to the best of their abilities."
